His handicap/Fibresand debut saw him step forward on what he had shown so far and although he only beat one with a questionable attitude he did so in decent style. There should be no worries about this surface although he does go up 4f in trip here having looked suited by a stamina test.
Course winner over 2f shorter on his last run he now makes his handicap debut off a reasonable mark. Arguable that he had the run of the race last time out when he was a 20/1 shot he should be capable of further progress.
Cheekpieces that were used for the first time on her last start are retained here on her second handicap start a race in which she travelled quite well. That was over 2f shorter and she did look quite well suited to that test so this extra distance might just find her out.
Showed that she had ability in maiden/novice events all on the AW and was kept to a synthetic surface when making her handicap debut at Newcastle last time. No doubt that she gave her running there over a mile but her mark looks a stiff one as she steps up 4f here.
Had been shaping well prior to gaining his first win on his penultimate start overcoming trouble in running before winning narrowly. Given a break after that and up 5lb he nearly recorded another win last time; up another 4lb here and over further but hard to leave out.
Remains a maiden (a fair one) after nine starts and was well backed last time with the blinkers on for the first time. Not beaten far on that occasion and nudged up another couple of pounds which may well be enough to keep him a maiden.
Forecasts
Aiya (11/10), Roundabout Kitten (4/1), Yamuna River (13/2), Mouchee (8/1), Barbara Villiers (17/2), Sotomayor (12/1)
Most of these are stepping up in trip although it does look as though a stamina test is what they need. Aiya won well last time out on the Fibresand and could yet make some more progress along with Roundabout Kitten who makes her handicap debut. Yamuna River might just find this test too much while Barbara Villiers has been handed what looks to be a stiff looking mark. All of that adds up to the fact that MOUCHEE may well offer some value here despite the rise in the handicap as he could have some more improvement in him and he looked a little unlucky last time not to follow up his previous win.
- Mouchee
- Aiya
- Roundabout Kitten
