Stayed on one pace in last two starts over further so question mark about this drop back to the mile. Beaten favourite latest and has something to prove under top weight so looks vulnerable

Appeared not to stay 10f when beaten favoruite on handicap debut at Lingfield penultimate start, but much better latest when kept on to finished runner-up over this C&D. Similar display might well be good enough this time.

Generally disappointing in four starts last term but has done better this month since returning from gelding operation. Runner-up in first-time visor last time and headgear is retained. Yard's few winter runner's are performing with credit.

Hinted at ability last term in five starts for William Muir but has basically been disappointing. Tumbling rating combined with first-time hood saw some improvement last time but looks a tricky ride. Worth a try though stepping up to today's trip.

Didn't show a great deal in first four starts but signs of ability on last two runs, including at Chelmsford last week when meeting trouble in running. Has been dropped another 1lb so rates a potential player in modest heat.

Nicely bred daughter of Street Cry, but beaten favourite last two starts, including when odds-on last time over 6f at Lingfield. Big step up in trip hints of desparation with headgear left off now, but has claims if she stays.

Raced too freely under apprentice over 9 1/2 f last time and last place finish can be ignored. Good rider booked this time and previous two efforts over 7f suggest she could well be there or thereabouts this time.

Forecasts

Barnay (6/4), Freebe Rocks (13/8), Summer Thunder (7/2), Bill Cody (8/1), Hollywood Dream (12/1), Global Wonder (25/1), Lady Jayne (33/1)

Verdict

In a race of generally disappointing types, BARNAY looks the safest call having run well last time out over course and distance. A similar display might well be enough to get the job done. Lady Jayne is better than her last run suggests and on previous form has claims, as too do Freebie Rocks and Global Wonder . Any market suport for the frustrating Summer Thunder would be worth noting.

  2. Lady Jayne
  3. Summer Thunder
