C&D winner last February and holds decent enough claims from just a 2lb higher mark. Needs to better his latest effort, but the gelding had previously been in good form, so has to merit a check in the betting at least.
Recent form is a bit of a mixed bag but last two starts have been encouraging enough for the gelding to merit consideration at this level. Worth noting in the betting for sure.
Bits and pieces of solid form but the gelding's losing run is starting to mount up. However, he's dropped to a competitive looking mark as a result and, from a fairly handy draw, he can go close in this company. Shortlisted.
Back to winning ways in December and posted a couple of sound performances since then. Well drawn here and likely to be in the thick of the action if able there is a strong pace. Another to bear in mind.
Sound claims on the form of his recent second over 7f here at the start of this month. Already a three-time C&D winner, so no fears about the trip. Leading contender with a very positive jockey booking to bolster the case further.
Yet to win over 6f but does handle the trip well and is handily weighted just now. Losing run goes back to August 2016, though, which tempers the confidence for a win only punt.
Rider's claim should come in handy but recent form and potentially tricky draw suggest the gelding has a good bit to prove just now.
Has won over 5f here but seems to have lost his way just now and looks likely to be a bit-part player unless he can dig a lot deeper than he has done of late.
Goes well here but yet to win beyond the minimum trip and comes into this on the back of an uninspiring run of form.
Plummeted in the ratings after a long losing streak and is another that has a lot to prove just now. Best watched.
Form has dipped markedly of late and needs to be virtually transformed by the application of cheekpieces.
Forecasts
El Torito (11/4), Black Truffle (7/2), Tasaaboq (9/2), Mr Potter (9/2), Strictly Carter (8/1), Storm Lightning (16/1), Ambitious Boy (25/1), Whispering Soul (40/1), All Or Nothin (50/1), Head Space (50/1), Go Charlie (66/1)
The weaker of the two divisions can go to TASHAABOQ, who loves this C&D and has the right man on board to help him negotiate a passage from his wide berth in the stalls. Mr Potter has some sound efforts to his name and also merits respect, while market confidence behind El Torito could also be rewarded by a place in the frame at least.
- Tasaaboq
- Mr Potter
- El Torito
