Never quite good enough to land a novice hurdle, but chasing has always looked likely to be his game. Ran out on debut but much better last time over an inadequate trip. Stable's chasers have an excellent record here and one to consider.

Proving expensive to follow although the trip my have found him out last time. Flattered by his proximity to the winner on chase debut when he made errors. Has the ability to win this, but something appears to be lacking.

Showed a good battling attitude to concede 38lb to the runner-up last time. Suited to these testing conditions and capable of following up.

Chasing form leaves a lot to be desired so far and big improvement already required. Others more appealing this time even though stable have won with six of their last nine runners.

Handles soft ground and down to his last winning mark over hurdles. Appeared to be running into form last time and cannot be ruled out on chase debut.

Forecasts

Quietly (13/8), Crank Em Up (7/4), Big Meadow (6/1), Ceann Sibheal (6/1), Sam Noir (12/1)

Verdict

A case can be made for all five with Sam Noir appearing to be coming to hand last time and down to a winning mark, whilst Ceann Sibheal comes from a stable in form. Big Meadow has the ability to win this handsomely, but he is proving hard to win with. Crank Em Up beat a modest bunch last time when it paid to race prominently, but he will relish these testing conditions. QUIETLY has been brought along steadily and appeals as the type to do well over fences. The trip was too short last time, but his hurdling form shows he wants this sort of distance on testing ground. His yard have an excellent record with their chasers here, with a lifetime profit of 64 points to level stakes, and he can provide them with yet another winner.
  1. Quietly
  2. Crank Em Up
  3. Big Meadow
