Has been running with great credit for much of the winter, trip and track fine and although he never quite got in it at Lingfield last time, wasn't beaten far. Needs pace on here for him, as he likes to come late, and should hold a chance.

Good record here (two wins from four starts) and step back up to 6f will suit after a never-nearer sixth at Wolverhampton last time. Not been with new yard long, and he should be up to making an impression here.

Two wins from five starts at the track, nudged up a pound after just getting the wrong end of the argument at Newcastle last time (5f) and if they go quick up front, it will help his chance here. Drawn nicely and chance in an open race.

Game and genuine veteran that's been in good form lately, winning at Wolverhampton in December and running to a similar level last time. Only question mark is the track, as he's never run here before, but that aside, holds a leaders chance.

Went too quickly for his win good at Lingfield last week, and rather paid the price for it, folding late. This is slightly easier, and he faces little competition for the lead, so may go better, but handicapper does look to have him at the moment.

Winner in lesser grade at Newcastle last summer and will undoubtedly strip fitter for a recent outing after a break, but didn't show enough there and may need another run or two to reach peak fitness.

Went close over 5f at Wolverhampton in December but two subsequent efforts haven't been to that standard, and he never got in it at Newcastle at the turn of the year. Trip and track fine (placed only start here) but others preferred.

Back to some of his better form when third (at 33/1) at Lingfield last time out, possibly benefitting from the way the race panned out. Tends to do his winning in the spring/summer but repeat of latest would give him a squeak.

Forecasts

Hakam (11/4), Tropics (7/2), Reckless Endeavour (9/2), Upavon (5/1), Zac Brown (8/1), Sign of The Kodiac (10/1), Fast Track (10/1), Ascot Day (25/1)

Verdict

There's not much in the way of pace on here - Zac Brown looks the likely pace - which makes for the possibility of a false pace. Some caution is advised then. The aforementioned Zac Brown will be dangerous if allowed to dictate, but in the hope it's truly run HAKAM would make the most appeal. He goes well here and might be able to score a third victory at the track. Sign Of The Kodiac is pretty consistent and should be up to picking some place money up too.
