Bentelimar¹²

Age: 9| Weight: 12-7| J: Paul O'Brien⁽⁵⁾| T: C E Longsdon| OR: 136

4/6

No match for the impressive winner Terrefort at Huntingdon just under two weeks ago (2m4f soft), but fair to say he's performed respectably on all three starts for this stable. Welter burden to shoulder despite his riders claim.

Form: U26032

Cracking Find¹³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Danny Cook| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR: 122| CD

5/2

Jumped impeccably when scoring at Newcastle in November (2m good), so it's a slight surprise that he's not kicked on fully since then. Has won over this trip here over hurdles, and that could prove the key to unlocking further improvement.

Form: 2-33153

Justforjames²⁹

Age: 9| Weight: 11-6| J: Mr Joe Wright⁽⁷⁾| T: Micky Hammond| OR: 121

10/1

Both of his hurdles successes came at Sedgefield (2m4f), and he appeared to be progressing quickly prior to flopping at odds of 4/5 in January 2017. Options exhausted from his current mark, he has switched to fences without any real progress so far.

Form: 1323-55

Somewhere To Be^b1³⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Aidan Coleman| T: M Keighley| OR: 115| BF

8/1

Ridden clear to score by 4L at Lingfield in November (soft), he didn't appear to lack stamina or resolution, but he was beaten off this mark at Towcester next time. Blinkers are applied to search for just that little bit of extra improvement.

Form: 73-0416

Forecasts

Bentelimar (4/6), Cracking Find (5/2), Somewhere To Be (8/1), Justforjames (10/1)

A small field, but not the easiest of contests to solve, with perhaps only Justforjames (still has it all to prove over fences) ruled out of contention. Cracking Find should be capable of tasting further success from his current mark judged upon his Newcastle success in November, and his jumping will always stand him in good stead, but BENTELIMAR boasts the strongest form on offer, and gets the nod for Charlie Longsdon despite having a welter burden of 12st 2lbs to carry.
