Yet to win in 11 starts but second four times last campaign in novice events over hurdles. Well beaten in handicaps in both starts this term though and probably best watched despite the drop back down in class.
Shock 25/1 winner at Carlisle in 2015 but hasn't managed to back that up since. Probably better over a little shorter than this and never won in ground this testing. Others make more appeal.
Won here last year over 2m and has been running well in defeat on his couple of starts this campaign. Has performed in testing conditions before as his Towcester win over this trip demonstrates and one to keep on side here.
Shown very little in four starts for this yard, tailed off each time and while he looks very well-handicapped on old form, he looks completely reliant on first-time blinkers working the oracle here.
Point-to-point winner who is yet to score under Rules but showed signs of being able to get his head in front at Warwick last time. That came in similar ground to what he will get here so can't be ruled out if building on that.
Produced some respectable point-to-point performances but is yet to take to hurdles in three of his four starts under Rules. May want a step up in trip and a switch of discipline to be seen to better effect.
Unplaced on all nine starts including when well beaten here over 2m here last time. Positive jockey booking but hard to fancy.
Point-to-point winner but yet to score in nine starts under Rules. Produced an improved performance to finish fourth of eight at Doncaster last time though and each-way claims if building on that.
100/1 career best was a distant second of 11 at Hexham nearly two years ago but seen sparingly since and shown nothing in three subsequent starts. Still a maiden and showed very little on comeback run last month at Catterick.
Won at Sedgefield over fences on heavy ground 11 months ago but very disappointing subsequently and trainer has had just one other winner from 72 runners over the last 12 months. Yet to win in 11 starts over hurdles and looks up against it.
Pulled up or tailed off in all eight starts under Rules and no better in first-time cheekpieces at Newcastle last time. That headgear retained and big leap of faith needed to think he can turn it around here.
26-race maiden and unplaced in all 14 starts over hurdles. Has been running a little better lately so not without each-way claims.
Forecasts
Cafe Au Lait (85/40), Indian Reel (4/1), Chase Me (8/1), Log On (8/1), One In A Row (10/1), Floramoss (12/1), Age Of Glory (14/1), Bandol (16/1), Verano (20/1), Jacarno (25/1), Cully Mac (25/1), Armorous (33/1)
CAFE AU LAIT looks on the upgrade since joining this yard and he looks capable of defying a 4lb rise for his latest second at Plumpton. Indian Reel seemingly doesn't mind testing conditions after a good third last time and could be the main danger if he can build on that while Log On has dropped to reasonable mark and could run well again.
- Cafe Au Lait
- Indian Reel
