Versatile performer who can put in solid efforts at times but is on a long losing streak now and has also never won on the AW.
Better lately since teaming up with his rider. Unlucky on penultimate start and appreciated a good pace when dropped back to this trip last time. Up 4lb but mark dropped dramatically during a bad year for the yard, so he should be able to cope.
Two good runs now for her in-form yard and hood added to the tongue-tie. Potential for more to come and hard to dismiss.
Now 6lb below her last winning mark and showed last time she retains the ability to win a low-grade affair such as this.
Poor last time but had shown promise in two previous starts, including a hot Yarmouth maiden on debut. Sire influence for speed and dam stayed 2m2f, so this looks a more suitable trip. Yard had a couple of winners this week following a quiet 2017.
Well beaten in three maidens (the most recent of which was as long ago as May), but should find this considerably easier. An interesting contender under this rider on his first run with cheekpieces.
Dual C&D winner who hasn't been at his very best recently but is now below his most recent winning handicap mark. Work to do with Karam Albari on running here last week.
Nine-race maiden who is with his third trainer. No show on stable debut a month ago and hard to fancy.
Bits and pieces of solid form during her time with Heather Dalton but form shown for his current yard is well below that standard. Stiff test on recent evidence and not hard to look elsewhere.
Veteran who has won several times including at this course, but is yet to pick up a win over further than 1m, so would probably be seen to best effect over shorter.
Forecasts
Karam Albaari (5/2), Relevant (3/1), Zephyros (4/1), Pivotal Flame (6/1), Epicurious (10/1), Ginger Lady (12/1), Beast (16/1), Embankment (25/1), Royal Rettie (25/1), Fairy Mist (50/1)
This is a weak race in which Karam Albari and Relevant arrive in better form than most. The former remains potentially well-treated now that his yard have found a bit of form after a torrid 2017. Mark Tomkins is another trainer who endured a quiet campaign last year but this season promises better if this week's results are anything to go by. GINGER LADY has got into this on an attractive mark judged on her debut in what turned out to be a hot Yarmouth maiden. The longer trip is another reason to anticipate improvement and she may the answer to a contest which will take little winning.
- Ginger Lady
- Karam Albaari
- Relevant
