A six month break and a handicap debut appeared to show her in a better light when she finished in the runner-up slot having looked likely to win despite coming from a long way off the pace. Cheekpieces now go on for the first time and she's up 2lb but has a major chance here.

Has shown little form in maiden and minor events over 5f on turf and AW and makes his handicap debut here. Has only beaten one rival home in three starts so far so it takes a leap of faith to support him going handicapping for the first time.

Looked badly in need of her debut run but showed little progress in two subsequent runs over 7f on turf. Now makes her AW/handicap debut dropping in trip off a lowly mark and there may be a little more to come now she goes handicapping.

The only one in the field with experience of this track having finished second here in a 5f seller on her penultimate start. Has been well beaten in handicaps though and despite a 2lb drop in the weights from last time makes limited appeal here.

Has so far made very little impact in minor events over 5f-6f and is now tried in headgear on her second handicap start having been dropped 4lb from her first effort. Hope pinned on the first-time visor/tongue-tie combination working the oracle.

Three starts have yet to show that she has any promise having been well held in three big-field events at up to 6f. Now goes handicapping off a basement mark but hard to build a case on what she has shown so far.

Forecasts

Summer Thunder (8/11), Red Snapper (9/2), Quick Recovery (5/1), Rusty Blade (8/1), Lastoneforthecraic (11/1), Raise A Little Joy (50/1)

Verdict

Not a particularly inspiring start to the card with any solid form in very short supply and it should provide a good opportunity for SUMMER THUNDER to build on her runner-up slot last time with none of this field having shown anything like that sort of form. Quick Recovery now makes her AW/handicap debut for a yard that do well here and she may be able to step up on what she has shown so far. Red Snapper has a least shown she can act around here and may be able to gain another place while an improved effort from Lastoneforthecraic may well be on the cards with headgear now applied.
  1. Summer Thunder
  2. Red Snapper
  3. Quick Recovery
