A revelation since switched from turf to the AW, with C&D form figures reading 2,1,1. Likely to employ similar tactics to when scoring in early January (made all), but a 9lb rise in the weights could slow his progress.
A switch to the AW has led to an upturn in fortunes, and a recent gelding operation has seemingly made a man of him. Held up and produced with a strong late run when beating Cherry Oak by 1¾L over C&D on Friday. Carries a 6lb penalty.
An eight race maiden who has the cheek-pieces applied for the first time tonight. Finished 2½L third to Wiff Waff over C&D on Friday, but tough to see those placings being reversed despite the winner now carrying a 6lb penalty.
Forecasts
Lord Of The Glen (4/5), Wiff Waff (6/4), Sienna Says (8/1)
With just the three runners, let's hope all choose to stand their ground. Both Lord of The Glen and WIFF WAFF are much improved performers since switching to the AW, and whilst it's futile in many respects to discuss handicap marks in such a small field, the former is now 24lb higher than was the case back in October. A tactical battle should ensue with Phil Dennis likely to force the pace, but the suspicion is that Joe Fanning will be able to produce his horse with a strong late effort similar to the one that he deployed over C&D on Friday when the Stuart Williams trained gelding proved far too strong for Cherry Oak (& Sienna Says), and that should be basically that.
