Looked well treated when he returned to form at Doncaster last February and now features off a 1lb lower mark with the blinkers he wore for the first time on his last start retained. His last outing took him back in the right direction although he did race too close to a strong pace; chance if in the same form.

Yard are in very good form and that showed when this one got back on track and matched his earlier hurdles form when winning at Market Rasen on handicap debut. Appreciated the longer trip that day and trainer/jockey combination took this last year.

A likeable type she's proved to be useful over fences in handicaps with her penultimate run at Lingfield showing her in a good light (had a stiff task with the winner). Fell at the first last time but should be capable of running well enough here off a mark 2lb below her last winning one.

Took a while to get off the mark over fences finally getting the job done with an all-the-way win at Wincanton in October in today's headgear combination for the first time. Not quite been able to match his winning form since off a revised mark and this trip may stretch him.

Recovered the level of his hurdles form over fences when winning at Exeter in November travelling well and suggesting that there was more to come. Had a gruelling race back at the same venue next time (again ran well) but that run looked to have left its mark when he was last seen.

One of two runners from this yard in this he needs to regain the form he showed on his chase debut to make an impact in this. As he showed in that run he needs a real test of stamina as he's not the quickest and a pulled-up effort last time means he comes here with questions to answer.

Almost made the most of being given a chance by the handicapper when finishing second at Fontwell in November over a slightly shorter trip. Never been the most consistent though and so it proved with a disappointing effort at Kempton on Boxing Day; one to be wary of.

Clearly showed the benefit of his comeback run when taking a useful novices' limited handicap at Chepstow in first-time cheekpieces. Had the edge in experience there but only edged up 3lb for that win and capable of making a bold show here on the back of that run.

Has been very lightly-raced but here was plenty to like about his chasing debut at Taunton when he blitzed his field from the front of a 12lb lower mark jumping well and coasting home by 12L. Clearly faces a tougher task here but hard not to like his debut fencing effort.

Made favourite when last seen at Warwick on New Year's Eve but was on the back foot early on after making mistakes and jumping slowly. Some 6lb below his last winning mark but not the most reliable of horses and faces a stiff task against some improvers in this.

Forecasts

Kimberlite Candy (10/3), Indy Five (7/2), Horatio Hornblower (7/1), Millanisi Boy (8/1), Private Malone (8/1), You Say What (10/1), Two Smokin Barrels (14/1), Killala Quay (14/1), Wilberdragon (16/1), Saint John Henry (16/1)

Verdict

It was hard not to like the debut effort of INDY FIVE when he took apart his field at Taunton and connections resisted the temptation to run him again quickly accepting the 12lb rise. Given that he’s so lightly raced he could well have further improvement in him but one minor niggle is that he may face competition for the lead here. Kimberlite Candy appears to be another for whom things are starting to click over fences and he looks a danger. The experience of Millanisi Boy will again be useful as it was when he won at Chepstow last time and although he may need to find some more progress he’s not without a chance here. You Say What needs to bounce back from some hard races but could do so although his yard remain quiet and Two Smokin Barrels shouldn’t be written off her penultimate run at Lingfield giving her a chance in this.
  1. Indy Five
  2. Kimberlite Candy
  3. Millanisi Boy
