A consistent sort in bumpers and over hurdles she ran a sound race on handicap debut on her penultimate start before enjoying the return to novice company and a relative speed test last time. Travelled well (won with a bit in hand) but now has this surface and career high mark to deal with.
There will be no surprises here as to how she is going to go and that will be from the front after she enjoyed her own company when winning at Newcastle last time. Won that in convincing fashion (jumped well) and should be able to cope with this mark (108) having won off 113 before.
Yet to win a race over hurdles but produced a career best last time out on a return from a nine-month break at Newcastle. She's perhaps not looked the most straightforward sort and this will be tougher than the 0-100 last time as she's been raised 8lb but not written off.
Her two wins (back-to-back) came in novice races some while ago now (made all in both). She's been fairly lightly raced since (only four runs) and very much shaped one her last run here in November (over 2m4f) as though she needed the race; this may reveal more back in trip off a career low mark.
Now 0/12 over hurdles and the losing run continues to grow although she would have needed the run in a heavy ground 2m4f novice here last time. This will be her first run for this yard back over this 2m trip with the handicapper starting to cut her some slack.
It took a while but she belatedly confirmed the promise of her hurdling debut returned from a long break and back in novice company over C&D on heavy ground. Doesn't look the easiest to train as she was then off again before running well in a handicap last time out off today's mark over 2m4f.
Back to a bare 2m after showing better form last time out over 2m4f at Newcastle in a novice (shaped better than her finishing position). Now makes her handicap debut off a lowly mark and remains with some potential if she can back that run up; has run relatively well here before in bumpers/hurdles.
Forecasts
Raised On Grazeon (5/2), Berkshire Downs (5/1), Presenting Rose (5/1), Miss Tiggy (11/2), Baby Ticker (6/1), Beyondtemptation (13/2), Northern Girl (11/1)
An intriguing little contest where it’s hard to rule out any of the seven runners although a couple might be wishing that this was over further than the 2m. Raised On Grazeon looked to appreciate the relative speed test last time and that makes you wonder how she will cope with testing conditions here. Beyondtemptation is sure to give this another good go from the front and still looks as though she’s on a competitive mark so she will be dangerous with an easy lead. Baby Ticker has shown ability and some attitude in equal measure while Miss Twiggy has ability but doesn’t look the easiest to train. A chance is taken here with the handicap debutante NORTHERN GIRL who may need a little further to be seen at her best but will relish conditions and she doesn’t look to be on that tougher mark.
- Northern Girl
- Beyondtemptation
- Baby Ticker
