Horse A-Z
Impressive winner on rules debut last month at Catterick (2m3½f, good to soft), coming away to win easily by 8L. Should have a big say again.

Had shown some promise in three starts before claiming C&D novice hurdle on Boxing Day, sets the standard on that performance and much respected.

28/1
Well beaten on hurdles debut at Carlisle in December (250/1), and whilst that might have offered a shade more limited promise than his four previous efforts in bumpers, he is most likely to once again figure amongst the back-markers.

150/1
Nothing to note in two bumpers runs and sent off 150/1 on hurdles bow at Catterick (2m3½f, soft) on New Year's Day. Tailed off when pulled up there. Impossible to recommend on form.

Bought for £25,000 after being placed in a couple of Irish point-to-points, ran well in Aintree bumper in November and again acquitted himself well for a long way in Bangor novice hurdle (2m½f, soft) last month (finished fourth, beaten 17L).

150/1
Pulled up in three point-to-point starts, plenty work to do on rules debut with at least two smart rivals to overcome seemingly.

50/1
Bred for the job but only a glimmer of promise to be taken from his bumper debut here last month and since unseated rider early on having been unruly at the start on jumps bow at Catterick. Hood tried now.
Mare by Presenting makes some appeal on paper but nothing to back it up in couple of bumper runs. Saddle slipped and didn't get beyond third flight (pulled up) in jumps bow at Wetherby (2m3½f, soft) on Boxing Day, having gone off 80/1.

Forecasts

Quick Pick (10/11), Henry's Joy (9/4), It'll Do Rightly (3/1), Shulammite Man (20/1), Beau Sancy (28/1), Scorpo (33/1), Tab Hogarth (50/1), Fencote Belle (66/1), Steel Run (150/1), Grimthorpe (150/1)

Verdict

The top two on the racecard may well have this between them. It'll Do Rightly is now ten-years-old but was making his rules debut when readily getting the job done in a novice event at Catterick over this sort of trip last month. He could have more to offer but he'll need it to lower the colours of QUICK PICK, scorer over this C&D on Boxing Day. He did that in good style and, while penalised now, achieved more in defeating previous winner Or De Vassy by 6L. Henry's Joy went well for a long way at Bangor last time and looks best of the rest in a weak contest on paper.
  1. Quick Pick
  2. It'll Do Rightly
  3. Henry's Joy
