A fortunate winner on her handicap debut in a low key mares event at Southwell in March (2m soft), and modest at best in her sole start since at Worcester in October (2m4f good).
Beaten 5L by Shroughmore Lass (Drewmain Legend third) when runner up at Chepstow in November (2m heavy), but didn't get home when upped in trip off this mark at Fontwell latest (2m3f).
Hasn't made much impression since switched to handicap company, but feasibly could be stronger for her seasonal reappearance at Hereford last month. Dropped another 3lb.
Remains a maiden after 12 previous attempts, but is inching closer, and was a runner up in a small field affair at Fakenham in November (2m4f good to soft). Not helped on that occasion by a final hurdle blunder.
Showed a fair level of ability when with Nick Williams in 2014/15 (2m2f hurdle winner in France), but has been fairly dismal throughout 2016 and 2017. Now with a new trainer, who saddled the winner of her last race here in April.
Fair to say she's shown precious little in three starts in novice company, but she's back down in trip for her handicap debut with a plethora of new aids added (tongue tie and cheek-pieces).
Bumped into a progressive sort in the shape of Our Merlin when beaten 21L at Plumpton in early December (2m good to soft), but safe to say she was a disappointment latest, and has been eased 3lb by the assessor.
Produced a career best effort on her second start in a handicap at Chepstow in November (2m heavy) when finishing just over 5L third to Shroughmore Lass (Llantara second). Reasonable claims off a 2lb higher mark.
Falling in the weights, but yet to hit the frame in eight starts. Making a mid race move when hitting the deck three out at Uttoxeter on New Years Eve (2m heavy). Market helpful.
Produced an improved display to finish second of nine to Global Fert over 2m (soft) at Uttoxeter in late December. Up 1lb seeking a first jumps success, but better ground is a plus.
A 13 race maiden (all codes), she's difficult to enthuse over, admittedly with fewer convictions over timber after just five starts. Finished fourth in a moderate event at Hereford latest (2m soft).
Not raced for well in excess of 600 days, and has just the sole success on her CV in 37 attempts (2m1f at Newbury in April 2015). Not one to support with any confidence.
Made the frame when a distant third in novice company at Worcester in June (2m good), but has offered precious little promise overall. Handicap mark in free fall.
Taken out of a race here in late December, and remains winless in 13 attempts. Drops in trip after racing over further of late (2m2f+ at Exeter latest), and eased a further couple of pounds in the weights.
Yet to taste success in 15 attempts under rules, and has shown little to suggest that will be changing anytime soon. Pulled up over 2m4f (heavy) at Ffos Las latest.
An 11 race maiden who races from out of the handicap. Hard to offer any positive words with regards her chances. Weakened from the third last after leading at Exeter latest (2m2f+).
Her 14 race career has largely been an uninspiring one. Beaten 25L, but hit the frame when third at Exeter latest (Gilly Grace fourth, Orbit Light fifth). Tough task here from out of the weights.
Forecasts
Chilli Romance (6/1), Overawed (6/1), Kohuma (7/1), Eastern Lady (8/1), Drewmain Legend (9/1), Boutan (10/1), Gilly Grace (12/1), Kalarika (12/1), Flight To Nowhere (16/1), Oh Dear Oh Dear (16/1), Llantara (16/1), Kristal Hart (20/1), Moontripper (20/1), Brean Golf Birdie (25/1), Amour D'Or (25/1), Ice Tres (33/1), Orbit Light (66/1)
Strong in numbers, but in reality a race which offers very little else. However, DREWMAIN LEGEND offers a reasonable solution, and should be open to further progress on just her third start in a handicap. She is closely matched with Llantera on their Chepstow clash in late November, but is preferred to the Tom Symonds trained mare who has disappointed over a longer trip since. Other horses with chances include, Chilli Romance, Flight to Nowhere and Kristal Heart, or if you feel inclined to take a real chance, Kalarika could be worth a glance with a plethora of newly installed aids.
- Drewmain Legend
- Chilli Romance
