C&D winner who has run consistently well on this surface of late although the win did come off a career low mark of 51. Usually helps to force the pace and travels well and only beaten by two others who are sound on this surface last time out; leading chance again.
Modest handicapper who is on a losing run that is starting to mount in worrying fashion now despite the handicapper showing him some mercy. Ran poorly here last time out over 6f on his first try on the Fibresand (ought to act on it) and now back at 5f for another try here.
Took advantage of a drop in the weights to score at Wolverhampton in mid-December but that really does look to be a recent standout effort from him. Has done all his running here over this trip (1/7) but finished well held last time out and ran poorly.
Given a chance by the handicapper on his first run for this yard he certainly bettered his previous Fibresand effort taking the runner-up slot. Beaten by Archie Stevens on that occasion but his finishing effort left question marks and he's done nothing to dispel that theory in two subsequent starts.
Not seen since running poorly in a Brighton 5f handicap in September and now returns trying Fibresand for the first time. Pedigree suggests that she should be able to act on this surface (sire has a 18% strike-rate here) but form needs to take an upward turn.
Ran one of her better races last time out in a race where several of today's rivals also competed. Despite that being a step forward her overall form (remains a maiden) still isn't anything to go overboard about and a place may be the limit of her expectations again.
Form over C&D reads 78275 and he has yet to win on this surface. Ran poorly here last time out without his usual headgear (blinkers/visor) which return here but would need to show more to be of interest.
Not disgraced on his return to action at Chelmsford last time out after a seven month break he returns to a surface which so far hasn't looked as though it suits. Not a frequent winner and looks to face a tough task here and would do better on other AW surfaces.
Has shown some mild promise over C&D on his penultimate run but failed to build on that last time out here over the same trip. Has shown in the past that he goes well on this surface but isn't quite the force he was but not totally written off from this lowly mark.
Has shown very little form of any note and despite nine tries here still doesn't look at home on the Fibresand. Tried again in blinkers that were used for the first time on her last start but needs others to underperform here.
By a sire that has a decent strike-rate here with his progeny although this one has yet to show much in two handicap starts when a juvenile. How returns from a break but would need to show improvement to take a hand here and best watched for now.
Previously with Tim Easterby she was sold cheaply out of that yard in November and now makes her first start for this stable. Her only placing was gained in a 6f Ripon seller but she returns from a break here dropped 9lb; surface is an unknown though from a tough draw.
Forecasts
Dazeekha (3/1), Something Lucky (10/3), Archie Stevens (7/2), Lambrini Legacy (12/1), Plansina (12/1), Furni Factors (14/1), Bop It (16/1), Men United (16/1), Roy's Legacy (20/1), Very First Blade (20/1), Give Us A Belle (25/1), Red Shanghai (100/1)
At the weights Something Lucky should be up to reversing the form of their earlier meeting here with ARCHIE STEVENS but his finishing effort leaves a little to be desired there and since it’s the latter of that duo that makes more appeal despite the adjustment at the weights. Most of the others have something to prove although Very First Blade shouldn’t be totally written off from this lowly mark and Dazeekha may well be able to grab a place. If there is one that needs watching in the market then that accolade would fall to Plansina who makes her debut here for a new yard off the back of a break and any support would be worth noting.
- Archie Stevens
- Something Lucky
- Very First Blade
