Sole success came over 2m3f over hurdles and he did well to be beaten less than 5L into fourth in a Grade 3 event last season. Has improved with all three runs over fences and not ruled out from this mark, though soft ground is a concern.
It's over three years since his only win, in a Southwell maiden hurdle (2m4½f, soft) and he can be a bit in-and-out, but still produces good efforts on his day. Up 4lb for another of those here over C&D last time and may just find a couple too good.
Scored over 2m7½f (soft) at Chepstow in a novices' handicap hurdle in March, but badly out of sorts both starts this autumn. On a reasonable mark if he can do better over fences, though not an ideal profile going into his chase debut.
1-15 so far and was beaten favourite over C&D in a similar race here last time, albeit recording an improved effort on what was just his second chase start. Goes okay on soft, although a bit ground preferable, but not ruled out if headgear positive.
Sole win was over 2m4f (soft) in a Sedgefield hurdle almost two years ago. Back after a lengthy absence this season and made immediate impact over fences last time, when neck second at Market Rasen. 3lb rise fair and should be competitive.
Won both a bumper and a Wetherby novices' handicap hurdle (2m3½f, good). Has run creditably on all four chase starts, though looks a bit one-paced when the chips are down. Vulnerable, though again should be involved from this mark.

Doubts over all of these in one way or another and the suggestion is RED INFANTRY, who is unexposed over fences, showed improvement last time and might just get the boost he needs from first-time headgear. General Mahler made a good start over fences at Market Rasen and is another unexposed runner who acts on soft ground, so he enters calculations. Given that he was taken out on soft ground earlier in the season, there has to be a bit of concern that Crystal Lad can produce his best on it, but otherwise he has claims. Nightline looks vulnerable again but has enough ability to compete in this field, while Doctor Glaz receives weight from the field and may be a bigger danger.
