Impressive when winning on seasonal reappearance at Newbury (second has upheld the form) and might have won but for falling on latest start. Jumping there a bit sticky, so will need to be on his mettle over these fences, but chance if doing so.

Bold jumping front runner that rallied really well to win at Cheltenham last time, superb leaps at the last couple helping. Ground no issue and handicapper kind with just a 3lb rise for that, but of more concern is the presence of other front runner

Much improved chaser last year, rattling off a four timer on soft ground, so conditions here fine, and ran well to finish second on seasonal reappearance in a competitive Ascot handicap hurdle latest. Has other front runner to contend with today.

Wonderful old boy that would drop this lot at his peak, but sadly looks a light of former glories this season and couldn't muster much of a challenge behind Gino Trail at Cheltenham last time. Ground slow enough as well, and hard to fancy.

Speredek (10/11), Gino Trail (3/1), Overtown Express (4/1), Rock On Rocky (5/1), Pearls Legend (10/1)

Verdict

No hiding place here despite the small field, with tearaways Gino Trail and Speredek in attendance. No doubt one will be looking to shake the other off early, but in this testing ground, they could just as easily burn each other out. In the event that scenario happens, it could be ROCK ON ROCKY who benefits the most, as he's refound his form, has a bit of stamina about him (stays further) and can pick them off late. Overtown Express has the beating of the selection on form but he'll need to be foot perfect early (not the case last time) or he'll find himself with too much to do.
  1. Rock On Rocky
  2. Speredek
  3. Gino Trail
