Inconsistent sort who unseated when last seen at Wetherby. Won a moderate Ffos Las contest the time before but looks to be on the slide now and probably best watched.
In great form this autumn and winning for the fourth consecutive time when successful over 2m4f at Aintree (heavy) last time. Raised 5lb for that success and one for the shortlist in this contest.
Pulled up twice since winning over 2m4f at Warwick (heavy) in February. Outclassed at Cheltenham on the most recent of those outings and making his seasonal debut off a mark 6lb higher than for his latest success. Wears first-time tongue-tie.
Took advantage off a falling mark to win well at Leicester and followed up off 10lb higher at Wincanton. Went up another 7lb for his next start at Leicester and was well held in second and not seen since. Market likely to be best guide.
Useful novice who wasn't seen to best effect on his only attempt in handicap company so far and was beaten favourite last time. Return to heavy ground a positive and handicapper has given him a chance. Engaged at Wincanton Saturday.
Lightly raced for one his age and had just two starts since winning over C&D on heavy ground in March 2016. Races off a 1lb lower mark than for that success on his first outing since pulling up at Wincanton in March but entitled to need this run.
Excellent second at Ascot last time when staying on gamely but narrowly denied in the finish. Handicapper had his say now though and may find this tougher from revised mark.
Forecasts
Play The Ace (3/1), Kayf Adventure (7/2), Ballinvarrig (4/1), Grey Gold (5/1), Rock On Rocky (6/1), Templehills (10/1), Pressurize (12/1)
KAYF ADVENTURE could be the one to side with if turning up here and he will appreciate the return to heavy ground. Play The Ace arrives here searching for his fifth straight win and can run well again after just a 5lb rise. Rock On Rocky has a 7lb rise to deal with but is clearly in good form at present and can run well again.
