Three-times a winner on this surface he bounced back to something like his old form when winning last time out over 2m. Should remain competitive even under his penalty here although he's never won over this trip but has the assistance of a capable amateur.
Already a winner over this trip on the AW at Lingfield he looked as though the shorter trip (1m4f) and the needs for stronger handling found him out. Now makes his Fibresand debut back up in trip with the assistance of a leading amateur; sire has a 0/21 record here.
Has shown some fair form in handicaps of late although his losing run now stretches back to October 2015. Mark has been reduced markedly since then and his best recent run came under this rider; makes his Fibresand debut with the sire having a modest record on the surface.
Makes her Fibresand/handicap debut here having shaped as though this sphere would see her in a better light in future. Yet to try a test such as this and the surface is an unknown; on balance she may be best watched here.
Certainly isn't in anything like the same form as he was when winning over C&D in 2016 when with Brian Ellison and he's offered little in his four runs for this yard. Only 1lb below that winning mark and best watched on this occasion.
Certainly has a pedigree that suggests he should be able to act on this surface but it looked far from suitable on his debut run here last month. Has plummeted down the weights and continues to do and he may be better than this mark.
Last saw the winner's enclosure just under a year ago when taking a 1m2f Lingfield handicap off a mark of 62. Now with a new yard and well below that mark but hasn't really proved himself on this surface (5th here twice) and others look better propositions.
some interest as she is partnered by the leading female amateur and she had a good 2017 on turf winning three times twice over this strip. Ridden by an inexperienced pilot last time (was very keen); her previous run here was poor but she wasn't in such good form then and she will be dangerous with an easy lead.
A course regular who has twice won around here but is 0/6 at this trip and not one to totally rely on. He's gone with little fluency or zest of late and it's hard to see him making much of an impact even off a basement mark.

A fairly low-key end to the card and the presence of Simon Walker on board Alternate Route will surely make that one favoured by punters the leading amateur always an influence on the market. The stronger handling he receives here will help but the sire New Approach has yet to sire a winner here and that does leave doubts about his suitability for the surface. There are no such doubts about SERENITY NOW and despite the shorter trip and the 6lb penalty for his win last time out he’s taken to follow up here. Affair would be of interest if she could gain an easy lead although she too has to confirm her effectiveness on Fibresand with Best Example and Buthelezi worth a look the latter didn’t convince here last time but his mark has tumbled and he does have a Fibresand pedigree.
