Stays 3m½f over hurdles and won a similar race at Kempton in May, for which he is penalised. Back in novices' company last time after being comfortably beaten in handicaps but fell early on. If he goes clear then he has claims again in this line-up.
Point-to-point winner who sprang a surprise when scoring on hurdles debut at Taunton (3m, soft) last month at 100-1, with Nicky Henderson-trained 132-rated runner a 16L third. That looked no fluke and he has to be taken seriously under penalty.
Irish point-to-point winner who looks a nice prospect on the evidence of his 7L debut hurdles win here over 2m3½f (soft) last month at 14-1. Step up in trip should not be a problem and he looks a leading player under his penalty.
Irish point-to-point winner (2m4½f, good to soft) who showed plenty of promise on rules/stable debut at Chepstow (2m, heavy) in November. Disappointed last time, but is interesting now upped significantly in trip.

Placed in several Irish point-to-points before winning at the seventh attempt. Pulled up on both starts under rules so far, here in a 3m hunter chase and also last month in 2m3½f novices' hurdle. Impossible to recommend in this line-up.

Forecasts

Follow The Bear (6/5), Uppertown Prince (2/1), Samuel Jackson (9/2), Doctor Haze (7/1), Happy Ring House (50/1)

Verdict

Follow The Bear is likely to be popular again but he is proving fallible and could face stiff opposition from the shock Taunton winner Samuel Jackson and recent course winner UPPERTOWN PRINCE and the latter just gets the vote. Doctor Haze is another interesting runner and is not dismissed now stepped up in trip and in receipt of weight from the penalised previous winners.
  1. Uppertown Prince
  2. Samuel Jackson
  3. Follow The Bear
