Was progressive on soft and heavy ground two years ago but hasn't shone in the last 12 months and has been dropped 11lb. Would have a solid chance on his best form but has plenty of questions to answer after a break.

Too bad to be true at Newcastle last time having won well over this C&D in November. Has claims on that form and handles conditions so is respected assuming he has put his recent blip behind him.

Irish raider who stays well but was a shade disappointing last time. That might have put him spot on for this though and any market move for him would be very significant.

Won twice here over hurdles in 2015 but has yet to score in 10 attempts over fences so far. First-time visor appeared to prompt an improved effort at Carlisle last time so not out of the reckoning if staying this longer trip.

Veteran mare whose 5 career wins have all come at this track, including over C&D last time out. 6lb higher now, but stays, handles conditions and is at her happiest hunting ground.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: Tony Kelly| T: R Menzies| OR:  105

French chase winner but has found life tough in three starts to date in this country. Not disgraced last time though and may gradually be acclimatizing, so not completely dismissed out of hand.

Appeared to see out this trip when staying on to be fifth here last time out, but niggling doubt he may fade in what are expected to be very demanding conditions this time.

Scored over four miles in heavy ground at Hexham last time so no stamina doubts but has been raised 7lb and this veteran may well find it hard to follow up. Will be staying on though when others have ground to a halt.

Age: 10|  Weight: 10-10| J: D R Fox| T: I A Duncan| OR:  101| CD

No stamina doubts, goes well on heavy ground, and up just 2lb for a game success at Carlisle last time out. Every chance if in the mood.

21 races since his last success but has run some creditable races along the way in defeat. Holding his form and may appeal to each-way punters as a potential value bet given recent consistent form.

Forecasts

Lochnell (11/2), Acdc (11/2), Achill Road Boy (13/2), Finaghy Ayr (7/1), Calivigny (7/1), Anseanachai Cliste (8/1), Lowanbehold (9/1), Presented (9/1), Un Noble (10/1), Valzan (20/1)

Verdict

ACDC is given a chance to prove his running last time all wrong. He had previously won over this course and distance so should go well. In a very open affair, bottom weight Presented should again be on the premises, as too should Finaghy Air. Lochnell commands plenty of respect being a real course specialist who may give the selection most to do, while top weight Un Noble is dangerously well handicapped if springing back to form.
