Completing a quickfire C&D double when winning off a mark of 73 here a month ago. Well beaten off his revised mark since and interesting to see how he fares in a claimer on this surface.
Both wins so far have come at Wolverhampton and put in his best effort in three starts for this yard when finishing 2L fourth there in November. Has finished well beaten since and is unproven on this surface.
Successful six times on turf and placed twice from four starts on the AW. Fair effort over hurdles last time and interesting to see how he fares on his debut on this surface.
Has run well over 1m6f here the last twice most recently when runner-up in a four runner claimer last month. Has won over C&D in the past and he is an interesting runner in this contest.
Victorious in a 1m3f claimer here last month. Claimed by current stable for £8,000 following that success and was a winner off a mark of 74 over this C&D in November.
Lightly raced since finishing 1L third in a five runner 1m4f handicap at Ripon (good-to-soft) in April 2016. Failed to fire on both starts last year and a bit to prove at present.
Regular at this venue but finished behind Throckley over 1m3f in a claiming contest last month. Was a winner over 1m6f here last March and he is one to note despite his advancing years.
Justified odds-on favouritism when the easy winner over a 1m6f claimer last month. He had Samtu behind him on that occasion and while his best form has come over further he is effective at this distance.
Forecasts
Gabrial's Star (11/4), Throckley (3/1), Restive (9/2), Pearl Castle (6/1), Maifalki (10/1), Jacbequick (12/1), Samtu (16/1), Brigadoon (18/1)
THROCKLEY has won both previous starts on this surface and he can defend that unbeaten record by registering a victory on his debut for trainer Sophie Leech. The most recent of those two victories came in a claimer last month and it can fall to Gabrial's Star, winner of a similar race to this last time out to confirm form with Samtu by finishing second and ahead of that rival once more.
