Winner of a maiden point-to-point early last month over 3m. Trainer in fine form so no surprise if he goes well although the trip may be sharp enough.

Beat just one home in lone bumper at Newton Abbot and same story when tailed off 14th of 15 over hurdles at Chepstow. Yet to hint of any ability.

14/1
Placed on the second of two point-to-point starts but beaten 32L into fourth when making his hurdling debut on soft ground at Wincanton and didn't progress from that when eighth of 21 at Newbury. This easier however.

66/1
Won final point-to-point before reverting to rules. Not disgraced when sixth of nine in Taunton bumper but never involved and beaten 51L at 100/1 over hurdles latest at Chepstow. Leap of faith needed.
Beat subsequent Aintree Grade 2 scorer Lalor on debut (but was later disqualified) in a Wincanton bumper. Very promising start over hurdles when second of 14 here over 2m1f. Should relish extra distance and big chance here.

€100,000 purchase is yet to live up to expectations in a Cheltenham bumper and Taunton novice hurdle. Showed some ability in each however and wouldn't have to improve greatly to make the frame.

2/1
Won an Irish point-to-point in April and bought for £130,000 at the sales not long after. Finished fourth of 15 on hurdles debut at Ascot only beaten 4¼L and this race looks easier on the face of it so has to be a major contender.
King's Theatre gelding ran a race full of promise when seventh of 15 at Ascot beaten 10L (Storm Control fourth)on debut. Sure to come on for the run and likely to get closer to that rival here.

Tailed off 11th of 16 here at 200/1 in a bumper last month, his only race so far. Likely similar odds here.

Decent efforts in latest two bumpers and in the process of running well her on hurdles debut until she jinked badly and fell at the fourth. Trainer in good form and an interesting each-way contender.

Forecasts

Run To Milan (13/8), Storm Control (2/1), Turangi (11/2), Sizing Cusimano (8/1), Coningsby (10/1), It's Obvious (14/1), Neetside (33/1), Jabbea (66/1), Farmer Lad (66/1), Willie Mclovin (150/1)

Verdict

RUN TO MILAN's bumper win worked out really well and he is of plenty of potential over hurdles. His second on debut here last month is as good a form as anything on offer in this race and he ought to improve further for the experience and this extra distance. Storm Control ran well also on his hurdles bow at Ascot and this winning point-to-pointer rates the main threat. Turangi wasn't far behind Storm Control and is open to any amount of improvement.
  1. Run To Milan
  2. Storm Control
  3. Turangi
