Signs of ability despite weakening into sixth when attempting to make all over an extended 1m7f at Southwell (good) on his racecourse debut last month. Interesting to see how he fares today.

Held a 1L advantage when coming down at the final fence in a point-to-point at Loughrea (heavy) 14 months ago. Purchased for £65,000 subsequently and worth a check in the market with a leading jockey booked on rules debut.

Holy Tiger

Unraced Tiger Hill gelding and a half brother to a number of winners on the Flat. Stable had just one bumper runner in recent seasons and probably best watched on debut.

Wore cheekpieces (retained) when finishing well beaten on his racecourse debut in an AW bumper at Lingfield last month. Pulled hard on that occasion and will need to settle better if he's to play a hand today.
Placed in a point-to-point from two starts last year and was just touched off when finishing runner-up in a Doncaster (good-to-soft) bumper on rules debut earlier this month. One for the shortlist with a promising amateur in the saddle.

Made a winning point-to-point debut at Cherrybrook (3m, good) in April. Cost current connections £40,000 at the sales subsequently and he is worth a check in the market on today's rules debut.

Unraced son of Fair Mix and a half-brother to the useful staying hurdler/chaser Blazing Bailey (also a winner on the Flat). Market support would be interesting on debut.

Forecasts

Save The Pennies (7/4), Kingsplace (2/1), Doc Penfro (3/1), Mr Washington (7/2), Barley Hill (4/1), Holy Tiger (12/1), Just Call Me Blue (22/1), Spenvia (25/1)

Verdict

SAVE THE PENNIES can follow up her promising debut at Exeter earlier this month by taking this concluding bumper. The selection caught the eye in a 16 runner contest on that occasion and can get the better of Kingsplace who put in a good effort to finish runner-up on his rules debut. Doc Penfro showed he handles today's forecast heavy ground on his sole point-to-point start and he can claim third on his rules debut.
  1. Save The Pennies
  2. Kingsplace
  3. Doc Penfro
