Had a successful time over the summer on the Flat winning twice partnered by the trainer's daughter although he didn't appear to enjoy the Fibresand last time. Now reverts to hurdles having already been successful four times in this sphere; not seen over hurdles since August 2016 though.
Steadily growing as a hurdler with experience winning twice in novice company at Market Rasen around a year ago. His jumping still needs some brushing up though but he returns from a break looking and interesting prospect for handicaps of this ilk.
Scored a hurdles hat-trick from March to June and went very close to completing a four-timer off a mark of 122 at Uttoxeter in July. Has run well on his last two hurdles starts in a better grade than this and is much better than his final placing at Chetenham last time when he travelled well.
One of two that the trainer runs in this he's not as experienced as his other representative and despite winning here on his penultimate start he did look a hard ride and nearly threw the race away. Did nothing wrong over C&D last time but steps into handicaps here off a tough looking mark.
Might get the run of the race here especially as he drops back again in trip having run over further in his last three starts. He's still unexposed in handicaps and although this is his toughest test yet he can't be ruled out here.
Forecasts
Attest (9/4), Moabit (3/1), Bandsman (7/2), Rio Bravo (4/1), Challico (5/1)
A testing little punting puzzle with Paul Nicholls running two in this although you could have slight doubts about both. Moabit clearly hated the Fibresand on the Flat last time out and now reverts to hurdles 7lb above the mark off which he won his only handicap over obstacles and Challico makes his handicap debut off a high enough mark having looked a little quirky on occasions. Bandsman has some potential but he might just need this and his hurdling could do with brushing up and it’s ATTEST who looks the one to side with here after looking a little unfortunate at Cheltenham last time out. Rio Bravo faces a tough task in terms of the grade but if he gains an easy lead he could be dangerous if allowed to dictate the race from the front although this trip could be a touch sharp for him.
- Attest
- Bandsman
- Rio Bravo
