Gained two runner-up slots here of late the first over hurdles and the latter when jumping well trying to make all and showing improved form on her chasing debut. Took well to the discipline and there is nothing wrong with her attitude although a galloping course may suit her better.

Totally left his chasing debut and anything that he achieved over hurdles when winning by 9L at Lingfield last time out in a lesser grade. Conditions should suit again although further progress is required to follow-up here off a 5lb higher mark.

Still yet to win a race and looked a little regressive for his former yard and doesn't look an easy ride (not the most straightforward). May have found the race coming too soon on his last start and now makes his debut over fences; more needed than he showed over hurdles.

Won a maiden on his completed start in Irish point-to-points and showed some useful form to win over hurdles at Warwick in May. Given a considerate ride on his return (handicap debut) and looks well handicapped on some of his form last year switching to fences here.

Went 2/2 over hurdles before being switched to fences but has essentially become more and more disappointing in this sphere running well below hurdles form and looking a hard ride. Failed to see the race out last time and despite the falling mark looks one to take care with.

Raised 11lb from his winning hurdles mark when making his chasing debut at Hereford last time out he failed to cope with the sharp 2m. Looks capable of much better over fences and this trip will suit far better and not written off after that one chase disappointment.

Placed twice in Irish point-to-points her form over hurdles was only modest and she failed to show any improvement switched to fences last time out. In fact it was a very limited start to life in this sphere and she'll need to jump far better here.

Age: 7|  Weight: 10-3| J: Harry Bannister| T: S-J Davies| OR:  78

Has won a maiden point-to-point but runs from way out of the handicap here having shown little in both his chase starts so far and this looks another stiff task.

Forecasts

Silent Steps (13/8), Sydney De Baune (4/1), Roll The Dough (5/1), Cap Horner (6/1), Indy Five (7/1), All Kings (10/1), Honourable Henry (33/1), Janes Boutique (40/1)

Verdict

It’s quite possible that Silent Steps could follow-up her good second here last time out on her chasing debut and put an end to her frustrating run of runner-up slots with the cheekpieces going on for the first time. She may not have things all her own way and with Cap Horner and the disappointing Roll The Dough in the field there may be scope to look at something at slightly more inviting odds here. INDY FIVE has the look and shape of a chaser and if has come on for his return he still looks well handicapped on some of his hurdles form. Sydney De Baune is another who could yet improve on his initial chasing spin given that this test of stamina will be far more to his liking.
  1. Indy Five
  2. Silent Steps
  3. Sydney De Baune
