A mud-lark who is a potent force when those conditions present themselves. Boasts a 50% strike rate under rules (4 from 8) and made an impressive chasing debut at Ffos Las (3m) in November. Not so effective since, but is a really fluent fencer.
A useful staying hurdler, whose two chasing starts to date haven't been without incident. Survived a first fence blunder to make an emphatic winning debut at Ludlow in November (2m4f), but wasn't quite so lucky next time out at Doncaster.
Ultimately proved no match for Ami Desbois at Wetherby recently (2m3f+ soft) on his chasing debut. However, there were positives to take from that run, not least a clear round on his first start since February 2016. Stays and handles cut.

A compact novices limited handicap chase to round off the Saturday Newbury action, with all four of the runners having plenty of positive attributes on their CV's. However, we will focus upon the selection SOLIGHOSTER. He has proved himself to be a real mud-lark in winning a bumper (Newcastle), a pair of novice hurdles (Fontwell and Towcester), and a 3m novices chase (Ffos Las). Although well beaten at Market Rasen latest; he probably paid the price for throwing it down to the winner Barney Dwan, but he jumps exceptionally well and that's more than can be said of the error prone Rocklander. With conditions expected to be truly attritional by this stage of the afternoon, Solighoster is a most confident selection to make it 2 from 3 over fences.
