Winner of one of his 18 hurdle races and is 0-10 over fences. Pulled up at Navan last time and looks to have his limitations over the bigger obstacles.
Runner-up in five of his 10 starts over fences, including at Thurles last time. The cheekpieces he wore for the first time that day are retained and he looks a leading contender.
Still looking for his first win after 12 starts over fences, but seems to be getting the hang of things and has finished second in two of his last three races. Should run his race, but may find one or two too good.
Maiden hurdler who was running a promising race on his chasing debut when falling at the sixth fence at Tramore. Cannot recommend on that limited evidence, but is worth keeping an eye on.
Dual hurdle winner who has failed to hit the frame in three attempts over fences. Plenty to prove so others make more appeal.
Showed ability in a Wexford maiden hurdle in September, but has faced stiff tasks in both starts over fences. Has an each-way squeak in this weaker contest.
Has been unable to hit the frame in nine starts over fences and failed to complete in the last two of them. Not without ability, but is a risky proposition.
Won a handicap over hurdles, but has cut little ice in three outings over fences. although he did shape with some promise until falling at Clonmel last time. Has prospects if putting in a clear round.
Two starts for current trainer since leaving Donald McCain in England. Ran well when fifth of 18 in a handicap chase at Thurles last time and is not without hope if building on that.
Won a Tramore handicap hurdle in January and connections have wasted little time in sending him over fences. Not disgraced on his chasing debut at Thurles and may do better with that experience under his belt.
Forecasts
Cappacurry Zak (3/1), Take The Cash (6/1), Peculiar Genius (6/1), Fiddlers Bow (7/1), Moores Road (7/1), Matin D'anjou (8/1), Nomanbehind (8/1), Steamboat Quay (8/1), Oscar Lantern (10/1), Asitsohappens (33/1)
Cases can be made for quite a few of these. Fiddlers Bow appears to be improving with experience and can hit the frame, but the suggestion is CAPPACURRY ZAK, who has been runner-up five times over fences and deserves to get his head in front. Take The Cash and Steamboat Quay will have their supporters, while Peculiar Genius, Nomanbehind and Matin D'anjou are others to consider.
- Cappacurry Zak
- Take The Cash
- Fiddlers Bow
