Unexposed and came good at first time in a handicap when a narrow winner at Carlisle (heavy ground) in October and ran to a similar level when third to Pop Rockstar at Wetherby latest. Good jockey booking and likely to improve if getting this trip.

Pokes his head in front now and then and probably capable off this sort of mark, but a couple of hurdling efforts this winter not that encouraging and this trip a big step into the unknown as well. On that, not hard to look elsewhere for the winner.

Looked to have a race in him based on a couple of eyecatching efforts in novice hurdles but solidly beaten on handicap debut at Leicester earlier in the month and now taking a whopping hike in trip. All looks a bit too much at this stage.

Was incracking form earlier in the year, winning three times at Sedgefield over staying trips and would have needed recent comeback effort after nine months off. Looks capable of getting involved if coming on from that, with any more rain a plus.

Going the right way and made it three wins from his last four starts when coming right away in the closing stages at Towcester last week, and this trip won't be an issue. Every chance of following up under a penalty if this doesn't come too quickly.

Not done much so far over hurdles but latest effort a step in the right direction, at least, and bred to appreciate this sort of trip on breeding too. Opening mark hardly a gimme but a bit of market support would make him of interest. Not ruled out.

Stays well and strictly on his second behind Triopas last week, holds a chance, but into the veteran stage now and wouldn't have the scope for improvement that one does. Likely to run his race though, and may take some prizemoney home again.

Forecasts

Durbanville (15/8), Triopas (2/1), American Life (5/2), Secret Passenger (14/1), Mcvicar (28/1), Joseph Mercer (33/1), Oregon Gold (66/1)

Verdict

Triopas has an obvious chance after his Towcester romp last week but this comes plenty quickly enough, and preference is for top weight DURBANVILLE, likely to do better upped in trip here and James Bowen looks an excellent booking. He remains capable of better and can cause a minor upset. American Life holds an obvious chance too, but any money for Secret Passenger would make him of some interest in a tricky little finale.
