Beaten at odds-on in a Cottenham point-to-point when last seen, and given that was over a year ago, may have had his training troubles too. Yard know the time of day though, so worth a look in the market in such a weak contest.

Infrequent winner, with just the two wins in 32 starts to show for his efforts. Not disgraced at Doncaster on latest start but yard's woes continue, with no winner for some time now. Hard to fancy on that and others preferred.

Would pick this lot up and carry them on the best of his form, but it's some time since he showed that and mark in freefall after some moderate efforts. Trip and ground fine (C&D winner in the past) but comes with many risks now.

Poor on the Flat (rated just 47) but did at least pick up a race when springing a 25/1 surprise in a Ripon seller in August. Shown little over hurdles to date though, and even from this lowly mark, makes minimal appeal.

Just 1 win from 33 starts, so no win machine, but of some interest as yard like to try and land a gamble from time to time, gets cheekpieces here and ground should be ideal. Good jockey booking too and market support would increase confidence.

Reverts to hurdles after a couple of falls over fences, which won't have done his confidence any good, Can travel well in his races yet often flatters to deceive, but with conditions fine, might hit the frame at a price.

Poor on the Flat and little better over hurdles so far, finishing well beaten all starts. Not totally disgraced at Newcastle back on the Flat latest but still hard to make any solid case for her.

Form he showed in the summer at Market Rasen would give him some sort of chance here, although this trip would probably be on the short side, but recent form has become progressively worse and now needs the tongue tie to turn it around.

Old boy has won a few over the years, but you've got to go back some 15 months to find his last win and it's not hard to see his best days are well behind him. Trip and likely ground fine but still hard to make much a case for on recent efforts.

Second at Sedgefield in February in a similar race to this gives him hope, but that efforts stands out like a beacon among some otherwise moderate efforts. Not seen out since late February and only of interest if attracting market support.

Has won three of his 39 starts to date, can pop up unexpectedly but not going anywhere fast in recent runs and now gets both a tongue tie and cheekpieces. That needs to have a major effect or he may face another struggle here.

Just the one win in 41 starts tells it's own story, little to recommend him after some poor efforts when last seen out in the summer and likely to need this run anyway.

Forecasts

Hartside (3/1), Mr Mafia (7/2), Discoverie (9/2), Copt Hill (7/1), Claude Carter (15/2), Roman Numeral (10/1), Shalamzar (12/1), Strait Run (12/1), Millen Dollar Man (16/1), Rock N'stones (16/1), Skipping On (18/1), Calypso Delegator (25/1), Fillydelphia (66/1)

Verdict

Not one of these comes into this with a solid profile, and caution is advised. The market will give clues as far as the likes of Millen Dollar Man and Skipping On are concerned, and market support for either should be heeded. At a price, ROMAN NUMERAL makes some appeal returning to hurdles as he can often travel well in this sort of company and maybe he can carry that effort through here. Claude Carter might hit the frame under conditions he likes.
