10L second of 21 at Cheltenham two starts back an encouraging run on good ground. Not quite as good at same venue latest on soft and drops in class for this. Ground forecast to be on the easy side again.

Dual winner on the Flat this summer but well beaten when a fortunate third last time. Unproven beyond 2m and others look more persuasive at present.

Took advantage of a drop to this level to score here last time. Up 7lb but may have more in him now that he has discovered the way to win.

Four time winner on the Flat when trained in Europe and won over hurdles for this yard in 2015. Beat Final Nudge over C&D that day and a repeat would be more than good enough if fit after another three months off.

Has some fair Flat form on his CV and 1-5 over hurdles. Has been aimed higher than this in recent starts and looks interesting now dropped in grade. Having stayed 1m6f on the level this may be a more suitable trip for him.

Did best of those who laid up with the strong pace last time. Had previously won over C&D on better ground and, if conditions are not as soft as forecast, he would have to be considered.

All three wins have come here including two at this trip.Third in this four years ago and fifth last year. Below his last winning mark but needs to bounce back from a poor run last time.

Has been running consistently well lately and produced another career best from this mark last time. Up in trip but obvious chance if staying.

Winner on the Flat in France and broke his duck over hurdles when successful over 2m at Uttoxeter (good-to-soft) in September. Not as good on last two starts and handicapper may have her measure.

Forecasts

Generous Day (4/1), Vivas (9/2), Focaccia (9/2), Alexander The Grey (6/1), Mr Snoozy (15/2), Acertain Circus (8/1), Bowie (12/1), Tyrell (12/1), See The Rock (12/1), Satellite (14/1), Soiesauvage (25/1), Shining Romeo (25/1)

Verdict

Focaccia finally came good last time but is now up 7lb and meets some potentially well-treated rivals. See The Rock won here two years ago and would come into that category, as would Tyrell and ACERTAIN CIRCUS. The latter looks very leniently treated on his 2015 form and there was plenty of promise in his comeback run. Generous Day has been holding his form well and would have to enter calculations if running to a similar level at this slightly longer trip.
  1. Acertain Circus
  2. Generous Day
  3. Tyrell
