14/1
Well beaten in a number of second-rate maiden hurdle performances when last seen for this yard in late 2016. May find this tough on return in first-time tongue-tie.
2
Horse silk
Johnny Sue37
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Mr B O'Neill| T: William P Murphy| OR:  90
7/2
Modest and below-par maiden hurdler earlier this year before returning to the point-to-point ranks. Plenty to work on now returning to hurdling.
3
Horse silk
Kickham17
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: Keith Donoghue| T: G Elliott| OR:  92
10/1
Generally disappointing on two starts for current yard since joining from trainer-Sandra Hughes. Market likely to be the best guide here.
4

Shower Crossh41
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: A McCurtin(5)| T: J J Walsh
9/4
Well beaten in three starts over the larger obstacles not starting at less than 50/1. Will need to improve to figure.

The Comediologistt325
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: D J Mullins| T: N Meade
7/1
Beaten a total of 66L in two maiden hurdle starts following a couple of poor bumper showings in 2016. Worth a market check on return to the track for powerful connections.

Horse silk
Timmie Roe19
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: D E Splaine| T: E O'Grady
4/1
Well beaten on two maiden hurdle starts at Clonmel recently finishing fourth of 18 behind Game Of War last time out. Could make his presence felt.
7
Horse silk
Western Ruler24
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: A Ring(3)| T: M F Morris
14/1
Lightly raced Westerner gelding finished last of five beaten 19½L on first start for a year in a Fairyhouse bumper. Very little to be positive about.

Horse silk
Backintheboomt26
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-9| J: J P O'Sullivan(7)| T: P J Rothwell| OR:  94
25/1
Well beaten and no impression in three maiden hurdle starts this season including a 55L defeat last time out. Hard to fancy in this company.
9
Horse silk
Celtic Dancer172
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-9| J: R P Treacy(5)| T: E McNamara| OR:  88
33/1
Nothing to shout about in four maiden hurdle starts beaten over 38L on each occasion. Hard to fancy and easily dismissed here.

Montauk Flyer17
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-9| J: D G Hogan| T: D Hogan| OR:  97
14/1
Laboured in only bumper start before four below-par maiden hurdle performances over the Autumn. Looks to be below what is required here.
11
Horse silk
28/1
Well beaten 89L last time out over 2m on heavy ground earlier in the month in a Cork maiden hurdle. Looks vulnerable in this company.
13
Horse silk
40/1
Well beaten in her last three bumpers including last time out at Tramore when seventh of eight 23L behind the winner. Could be interesting on hurdling debut.
14
Horse silk
Tara Miat166
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-2| J: K C Sexton| T: T Gibney
22/1
Finished 103L 13th of 17 when making her debut in a bumper at Clonmel in June before further heavy defeats in two Downpatrick maiden hurdles. Others preferred.

Verdict

Trainer Gordon Elliott has an impressive 51% win and place at this meeting in the last four years and his KICKHAM can be expected to improve on his handicap hurdle debut earlier this month at Navan with the five-year-old appreciating the drop in trip. Johnny Sue who returns from the point-to-point scene and Timmie Roe can hit the frame while Noel Meade's The Comediologist can give the selection most to think about.
  1. Kickham
  2. The Comediologist
  3. Timmie Roe
