9/2
Has the look of one who may well be better over fences than he was a hurdler (maiden in that sphere). Showed ability on his chasing debut when finishing fourth but fell last time out (hadn't been asked for any effort); should be able to win an event like this (can finish weakly).

Trojan Starv136
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-11| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: K Bailey & M Nicholls| OR:  99| CD
3/1
His last win came over C&D just over a year ago off a 6lb higher mark but he's a moody individual who doesn't always put it all in. Looked to take a step back in the right direction last time but not for the first time he failed to see things out; one to treat with caution.

Still a maiden over hurdles but he has hinted at being a bit better than he's so far shown on a couple of occasions. Showed that he had an aptitude for chasing on debut over 2m and this trip may suit better; off a 4lb lower mark here and one to take an interest in.

Well-backed on his first run for this yard and returned to chasing off a reduced mark proved to be the catalysts for his last win off a 4lb higher mark. He's returned to his previous regressive form since then though and despite a fall in the weights shows little signs of life.

Norse Lightt,v30
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-4| J: David Bass| T: David Dennis| OR:  92
4/1
Ended a long losing run on his penultimate start building on the promise of his previous run at Exeter although having travelled well he needed strong handling to prevail over hurdles. Ran well enough (again over hurdles) and is now returned to fences off his last winning hurdles mark.

Lickpenny Larryt19
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-2| J: Stan Sheppard(3)| T: T R Gretton| OR:  90
12/1
There were glimpses of ability in some of his hurdles runs (probably needed further) and he's also shown some aptitude for chasing. Given a tough task on his chasing debut but was going well from off the pace when running out last time; interesting if quirks kept in check.

Pandy Wells591
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: Richard Condon(7)| T: D Killahena & G McPherson| OR:  87| CD
7/1
Twice a winner over fences here (once over C&D) she is now back off her last winning mark but has a long absence to overcome. Failed to see out her race the last time she was seen so this trip may suit better but others have stronger credentials.

Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: N P Madden| T: Tim Vaughan| OR:  87| D
9/1
Temperamental sort who is 0/8 over fences but has run over hurdles the last twice in this headgear combination flattering to deceive last time out not for the first time. Overall his chase form makes him one to treat with caution and his quirks don't appear to be going away.

Next Exitt36
Age: 12|  Weight: 10-0| J: Lee Edwards| T: J R Cornwall| OR:  64| D
40/1
Scored a win from out of the blue having hardly beaten a horse home from way out of the handicap in November 2016. Hardly surprising that he hasn't been able to match that form since and this poor jumper once again runs from well out the handicap.

Forecasts

Trojan Star (3/1), Norse Light (4/1), Le Coeur Net (9/2), Torhousemuir (13/2), Pandy Wells (7/1), Bennachie (9/1), Lickpenny Larry (12/1), Skint (12/1), Next Exit (40/1)

Verdict

The Honeyball team remain in good form and this more than likely represents a good chance for LE COEUR NET to get off the mark over fences after a soft unseating of the rider last time out when he was going well. Most of the opposition comes with question marks against them although there are one or two that could progress such as Torhousemuir who looks as though he could be better over fences and Lickpenny Larry as long as his quirks can be kept in check. Trojan Star now tried in a first-time visor has run some of his better races here but remains one to treat with caution while Norse Light is of interest returned to fences back off his last winning mark.
  1. Le Coeur Net
  2. Torhousemuir
  3. Norse Light
