Horse A-Z
€24,000 Kap Rock gelding who was a winner on debut at Ayr in November (1m5f+ soft) staying on strongly to down Qasr by 2¼L. Further progress anticipated, with this track likely to suit, but does have a penalty to shoulder.
Unraced grey gelding by Great Pretender out of the French maiden Queenly Mail. Third foal who cost €38,000 earlier this year and is a half-brother to bumper winner Chez Castel Mail.

Unraced sixth foal by Elusive Pimpernel out of the unraced French dam Vayenga. Cost €20,000, and is a half-brother to 7f-1m winner Tigers Tale.
Unraced first foal by Yeats out of an unraced mare who was a half-sister to the German 1m Group 2 winner Sehrezad. Cost €20,000 as a three-year-old, and this stable have been amongst the winners at Newcastle already this winter.

Second foal by Finsceal Fior (£3,000 yearling) who made only minor progress from the rear division on debut at Doncaster earlier this month (1m5f good to soft) to finish sixth of nine to Ettila De Sivola.
Unraced Zoffany gelding who fetched £33,000 as a yearling, but was knocked down for just £800 at Doncaster in August. Sixth foal who is a half-brother to Italian sprint winners Interkab (7f) and Douro A Morire (5f+-7f). Stamina concerns.
Unraced first foal by Midnight Legend out of the bumper and 2m-2m1f chase winner Primrose Time. A filly who looks bred for chasing ultimately, so is anticipated to need plenty of time.
Soon weakened when finishing well down the field on debut at Wetherby earlier this month (1m4f+ soft) in a race won cosily by Kuragina. Half-sister to winning AW stayer and 2m-2m5f hurdler Lady Pilot.

Forecasts

He's A Goer (5/2), Emissaire (5/2), Kindler (4/1), Elvis Mail (8/1), Sai Kung Sing (12/1), Star Of Lanka (14/1), Gold Fields (16/1), Five Bar Brian (20/1), Midnight Kate (25/1), Orkan (28/1), Special You (100/1)

Verdict

Prior to today's action, Tom Lacey has a 60% strike rate with his runners at Newcastle (3 from 5), so the unraced Yeats gelding He's A Goer ranks as an interesting newcomer with Thomas O'Brien removing a handy 5lb from his back. However, the penalised Ayr scorer EMISSAIRE is preferred. Lucinda Russell's charge stayed on strongly to score on debut, and whilst the worth of that form is an unknown, this more galloping track should further play to his strengths. Of the remainder, Kindler wouldn't make masses of appeal on pedigree, but his trainer saddled the winner of a similar event at Doncaster earlier this month (Ettila De Sivola), so any market support is likely to be worth noting at the very least.
  1. Emissaire
  2. He's A Goer
  3. Kindler
