Three of his four wins have been here on testing ground when over hurdles. Began well over fences last time when beaten just 2L at Carlisle and can come on for that first run in over six months. Likely to be a leading player on handicap debut.

Stepped up on everything he achieved over hurdles when scoring over C&D on his chase debut (heavy) here last month. Raised 5lb for that, but looked like there will be more to come and if so, he will be tough to beat.

Won a maiden hurdle here (2m5½f, heavy) in January and again ran well on testing ground when last seen at Perth. Dropped 2lb going into this chase debut and probably one to watch this time given the opposition.

Recorded a hat-trick at Carlisle in 2014 (on testing ground) but no win since then. Has a squeak from this mark if able to revert to his from from January/February this year, but recent efforts have been far less encouraging.

Forecasts

Lough Derg Jewel (1/1), Progress Drive (7/4), Bako De La Saulaie (5/1), Strong Economy (8/1), Spanish Fleet (10/1)

Verdict

Progress Drive clearly loves coming back here and he will take a bit of beating in these conditions. At the very least he looks likely to improve for his chase debut, but the same goes for LOUGH DERG JEWEL, who gets the vote in receipt of 5lb from Nicky Richards' charge. Bako De La Saulale looked a useful prospect over hurdles and he can't be ruled out on his chase debut pitched straight into a handicap, while an on-song Spanish Fleet would be well handicapped, though recent form is offputting.
  1. Lough Derg Jewel
  2. Progress Drive
  3. Bako De La Saulaie
