Fell on his return to chasing in May and jumped cautiously next time. Off the track six months since and may need his more exalted rivals to falter in order to collect.
Winner of a valuable prize at Aintree and had probably gone over the top by the time of his next run. A rare runner over fences at the track for his yard and has won on his last two seasonal reappearances.
Landed the 2015 Swinton Hurdle and was the subject of a gamble that went astray in the 2016 Betfair Hurdle. This is potentially easier than his two previous starts over fences, but he will still need to be at his best in order to score.
Probably not far behind these on the pick of her hurdling form, but probably best watched here on return from an enforced layoff.
Forecasts
Rather Be (8/11), War Sound (2/1), Kayf Blanco (13/2), Ruby Rambler (18/1)
There were some ominous moves in the market before Burbank's collapse at Ludlow yesterday so it would be prudent to check trading for RATHER BE ahead of his chasing bow. The Seven Barrows runner landed a valuable prize back in the spring and he goes well when fresh. There would be little between him and War Sound on hurdling form but the latter needs to prove he retains that ability. Philip Hobbs' charge has the benefit of two runs over fences this term in good company, without showing any of the zest that exemplified his performances prior to a Swinton Hurdle success in 2015.
- Rather Be
- War Sound
- Kayf Blanco
