Smart form behind Willoughby Court at Huntingdon (2m4f, good) early last month and little trouble landing the odds back there next time. The one to beat on that evidence.

Hasn't cut any ice on two starts over these obstacles and will be a major surprise should she manage to buck the trend in amongst some smart opposition now.

Useful mare over timber, gaining there wins at Wincanton from 19 starts in total and often collecting place money. This isn't easy on chase bow but respected all the same.

Winner over hurdles in native France and easily registered handicap win off a mark of 114 at Chepstow in January (2m3½f, soft). No match for odds-on jolly Optimus Prime on chase bow at Plumpton but clear of two remaining rivals in finishing second.

Scored a hat-trick in novice hurdles earlier in the year all on heavy ground under positive rides having shown some high-class bumper form prior to that. Needed the experience on chase debut at Wetherby and waiting tactics didn't pay off at Bangor.

Forecasts

Casablanca Mix (5/4), Shaama Grise (7/4), The Nipper (4/1), On Demand (9/1), Dancing Conquest (100/1)

Verdict

The progressive CASABLANCA MIX ought to take some holding here. Her form behind Willoughby Court at Huntingdon was already impressive, but she then went back there and opener her own account with a minimum of fuss. With the Seven Barrows team firing on all cylinders, it isn't hard to see her doubling her tally. Shaama Grise was certainly not disgraced finishing second on her chase bow behind a promising rival can build on that now without necessarily scoring while The Nipper has potential if ridden more positively and chase debutante On Demand isn't totally overlooked.

  2. Shaama Grise
  3. The Nipper
