Easy winner at Stratford last time when task made easier by the departure of the favourite. Trainer surprised he had the speed to win that day as he ideally wants further, therefore potentially vulnerable under his penalty.
Bred to want further than this but is progressing with experience and could be a nice horse in time. He will get a handicap mark after this and he may be of more interest then.
Son of Black Sam Bellamy out of a dam who won four races for this trainer. Soon in trouble on bumper debut and almost certainly the yard's second string.
Well beaten on both starts and hard to take too many positives from those runs. Needs to improve considerably in order to feature.
One of a few leading fancies in this who looks in need of further than this. Has contested two hotter hurdle races than this and represents a yard with a 28% strike rate here with their hurdlers.
Has shown ability in each of his three bumpers but he has not improved much in that period. Has more speed in his pedigree than many of these and that could work to his advantage if taking to hurdling.
Far from progressive in bumpers and showed little aptitude for this game last month. Hard to recommend at present.
Placed in a couple of point-to-points but has only shown moderate ability under rules. Needs to step up considerably.
Form is in and out and even his best does not look good enough. Well beaten on Saturday and another struggle appears likely.
Modest bumper performer who has not shown any improvement since going hurdling. Tailed off again on Saturday and he is beginning to look moderate.
Well-related type who left Nicky Richards during the summer. Flopped on yard debut when last of eleven in a bumper and the switch to hurdling needs to yield significant improvement.
Dual bumper winner who has travelled well in both hurdling starts but has failed to pick up. Probably needs further than this, but she receives the mares allowance and benefits from rider's claim. Stable do well with their runners here.
Comfortable winner of a Southwell bumper but has had her limitations exposed since. Has not been easy to train and a watching brief is advised.
Winner of a point-to-point at Bartlemy in May last year but well beaten on all starts under rules. Looks out of her depth in this.

Not an easy race to call with all of the leading contenders having given the impression they would be better over longer trips. GORTROE JOE is the clear pick on form and has progressed with each run. The Skelton representative drops in class and ma have too much class for Melangerie. The Seven Barrows runner is the winner of two bumpers and receives a useful allowance. However, she may not have the scope for improvement of some of her rivals and speedily bred hurdling debutant Hattab may be more of a threat. Stratford winner Honest Vic will find this harder under a penalty, whilst Casterley Rock has shown signs of ability but looks the type to come into his own when sent handicapping over longer trips.
