Won back-to-back handicaps at Chepstow (6f) and Windsor (1m, both on good to soft) in the autumn and has continued to improve in two more runs at Kempton (both 7f, AW). Dropped 1lb going into this and he has claims from top weight.
Won a soft ground Newbury novices' contest (6f) in August and after couple of sighters in handicaps, she got closer last time when a 1L third in a first-time visor at Chelmsford (6f). Back up 1lb and has it to prove over this trip and on this track.
Won a couple over 6f for Tom Dascombe and has improved in two starts for this yard, winning again over 7f at Wolverhampton last time. Nudged up just 1lb for that and ran well enough here on sole start at the track, so enters calculations.
Best effort so far was when winning a weak nursery at Wolverhampton (7f) two starts ago. Not disgraced here over C&D after a 6lb rise last time out, but will need to improve to beat this field from the same mark.
Has taken a liking to Chelmsford lately and won there over 7f last time from a mark of 55. Penalised for that here, but she stayed on strongly and suggested there could be a bit more to come. Will need to find that against this opposition.

MOTOWN MICK may not have won either of his last two but he is a good yardstick here and likely to be able to produce his running, so he is taken to defy top weight. Central City could be a danger if handling this track on his first attempt, while The Mums is another obvious probable contender after showing better signs last time. Our Man In Havana is another in decent form and taking him on also has its concerns, while cases can be made for Diamond Pursuit and Roseau City, though whether they can bridge the class divide here has to be open at least to some doubt.
