Hit the frame on his last two AW starts, but his current handicap mark shows his true level of ability, and he is therefore likely to struggle in even the weakest of maidens. First start on Fibresand.

His pedigree suggests that he'll be much stronger over further. This late developing Firebreak gelding looks in need of more experience, having only made a belated racecourse appearance at Chelmsford earlier in the month.

Beaten 3½L by Logi in a 5f Wolverhampton maiden in February, he has been off the track ever since. Presumably has had a few problems, and now tries an extra furlong on his Fibresand bow.

Has scarcely managed to beat a single rival in three career starts, including when returning from an 11 month absence at Newcastle in November (1m). No chance.

Shown no ability whatsoever in six career starts, and with an official rating of just 42 couldn't be considered in any shape or form at this level.

Daughter of Winker Watson, who was never in contention at massive odds on debut at Wolverhampton last month (7f), and a similar scenario looks a nigh certainty here over this sharper trip.

Not disgraced on debut over 1m at Wolverhampton in November, but better still when dropped back to 6f here earlier this month when a 5L runner up to ready winner Ghaseedah. Well related, and a real force in this mediocre contest.

Half sister to Group 1 winning sprinter Limato, and whilst she's obviously not blessed with her ability should be competitive in this grade. Steadily progressive thus far, and beaten less than 1L when third to Bobby Joe Leg at Newcastle (6f) latest.

Forecasts

Jack The Truth (13/8), Canadian Royal (5/2), Ladies First (11/4), Limoncino (6/1), Khaleefa Bay (25/1), Tilsworth Lukey (50/1), Motley Crew (50/1), Fireguard (100/1), Thornton Frank (100/1), Georgiezar (200/1)

Verdict

A very mediocre maiden, in which some of the field clearly wouldn't be competitive even with a start of 100 yards. The list of potential winners is a short one which includes Limato's much less talented half-sister Limoncino. She should perform with credit assuming she handles the switch from Tapeta to Fibresand. The well-being of the long time absent Jack The Truth is taken on trust, so the selection is the already Southwell proven, Mick Easterby trained LADIES FIRST. She is bred for sprinting (a sister to Hoof It), and viable competitive opposition is very thin on the ground today.
