Second foal by Notnowcato who made a winning start at Towcester in October (2m good to firm). Penalised now, and that race rather fell apart with the fatal injury suffered by Esther Du Clos, but in all fairness, he did grasp the opportunity.
Tailed off on debut at Newcastle in November, and bred more for sprint trips than a jumps career, so readily dismissed.

Finished a remote last of eight on debut at Southwell in June (2m good) and makes little obvious appeal on paper.
Hardly rock solid having cost just £3,500 in August 2016, but is progressing at his own pace in bumpers and found the frame from off the pace when third to a potentially exciting new recruit (Didtheyleaveuoutto) at Lingfield latest.
Had three quick starts in bumpers earlier in the year, and handled testing conditions well when a runner up to Calix Delafayette at Ayr in March. Needs to find further progression for win purposes.
Beaten just over 5L when third to I'm To Blame on debut over C&D last month. That looked an above average contest for the track, and assuming that he's slightly stronger and wiser for that initial experience, he looks the horse to beat.

Unraced second foal by Sulamani out of the 2m4f winning hurdler Simply Mystic. Half-sister to bumper winner Simply Rogue, so most definitely a horse for market and parade ring inspection.
Unraced third foal by Dick Turpin out of the 6/7f winner Glen Molly. Cost €10,000 as a juvenile, but in truth makes little appeal as a future jumps prospect.

Cost a paltry £600 as a three-year-old, and this daughter of Fair Mix looked clueless on debut at Wetherby last month; veered left at the start and behind throughout (pulled up).

Forecasts

Return Ticket (7/4), Raving Bonkers (4/1), Simply Mani (11/2), Indian Harbour (11/2), The Roof Hub (13/2), Haasab (8/1), Dutch Coed (50/1), Grimthorpe (50/1), Fair Oaks (100/1)

Verdict

Raving Bonkers carries a penalty for his Towcester success, but that race rather fell apart, and it is RETURN TICKET who sets the solid benchmark. The Richard Collins owned gelding had the misfortune to clash with Paul and Clare Rooney's I'm To Blame on debut over C&D last month, but acquitted himself well in finishing just over 5L third to that potentially useful rival. With natural progression to be expected, he's a strong choice to strike at the second attempt, with the proviso being that the interesting looking debutante Simply Mani doesn't come in for sustained market support.
  1. Return Ticket
  2. Simply Mani
  3. Raving Bonkers
