Bumper winner on his debut he ran with credit in that sphere afterwards and he's been similarly decent over hurdles so far. Ran well on debut over hurdles in a Kelso novice that is working out well (useful Beyond The Clouds the winner) and beat subsequent winner Treshnish last time out.

Placed in point-to-points and very much shaped as though he would be better for the run when making his hurdles debut over C&D behind Silver Concorde who runs in the opener. Open to improvement now on his second start in this sphere although he may be destined for handicaps.

Had four starts in bumpers the best of which came here at Musselburgh on his first two runs. Given a considerate introduction over hurdles last time out when held-up (never dangerous) and already looks one for handicaps.

Wasn't unfancied on his bumper debut but finished rather tamely but that effort came back in 2015. His two hurdles starts have been separated by an absence and he looked a hard ride on the latest of them (failed to settle) and dropped away quickly; best watched here.

3/1
Runner-up on his second start in Irish point-to-points and has shown up well in bumpers so far putting his experience to good use last time out over 2m around here finishing runner-up. Now makes his hurdles debut from a yard going well this season.
Started out his Rules career with a storming victory in a Perth bumper winning by 13L in August for his former yard. Failed to build on the promise that he showed over hurdles on his debut last time out (took a strong hold) and may well be heading handicaps after this run.

In both her bumper and initial hurdles start she has looked a stayer and back from a break she has struggled in two starts over shorter in this sphere. This should suit her better although it still doesn't look as though this will be enough of a test of stamina.

Forecasts

Some Reign (4/11), Sonic (3/1), Ballycrystal Court (14/1), Moores Novelty (14/1), French Ticket (16/1), The Road Home (20/1), Vino's Choice (28/1), Drums Of War (33/1), The Delray Munky (50/1), Painters Lad (200/1)

Verdict

There are a few i this who will be aiming for handicaps once they have a mark and SOME REIGN looks capable of defying a penalty. Sonic looks a likely type for hurdles and his bumper form stacks up well for him to have a good chance on his hurdles debut. Ballycrystal Court and the Lucinda Russell pair The Road Home and Vino’s Choice look a likely trio to contest the minor placings.
  1. Some Reign
  2. Sonic
  3. Ballycrystal Court
