Generally shows his best form at Perth but has won here twice over C&D off higher marks (102 & 105). Not seen to best effect in two runs since returning from a break offering little the first time and needing a stronger gallop here last time out to be seen to best effect.

This will be his 9th try in handicaps with the handicapper not cutting him much slack in his mark with the trip looking on several occasions looking too far for him. Tried in cheekpieces last time when pulled-up at Exeter (heavy ground) those are now swapped for a visor.

Makes her handicap debut after a break now having cost £55,000 after winning a point-to-point. Her form in novice hurdles has hardly set the world alight although she did show some mild promise on her penultimate start at Perth over 2m.

Well held in bumpers her form in novice company was only poor overall although there was the odd hint of something better on occasions. Up in trip and ridden more positively than before she showed a little more here last time on handicap debut but has work to do with some of these.

Finally ended a long losing run when taking advantage of a much reduced mark (87) in September making all over 2m4f. Has run creditably since in four runs since finishing second here over C&D last time when second to Lady London and now 4lb better off with that one.

Has win in point-to-points but showed little over hurdles/fences when trained in Ireland. Two runs for this yard have seen little improvement and now tried in handicaps for the first time off a lowly mark; more needed to make a mark.

Had three of this field behind her last time over C&D with the first-time cheekpieces added to the normal tongue-tie working the oracle on her 4th handicap start. Idled close home last time and may well be able to confirm the form (6lb higher) with the headgear left off this time around.

His one win over hurdles came way back in March 2016 and he's not really shown that much of late falling last time out at Catterick (was running poorly at the time). A hood now goes on for the first time but even in this lowly grade he's still got plenty to prove.

Poor on the Flat at trips up to 1m7f and remains a maiden in that sphere. Has so far offered little in three attempts over hurdles with hopes now pinned on a handicap debut over hurdles; hasn't really shown enough to warrant an interest though even off a mark of 79.

Has in the past been capable of better form over hurdles winning over 2m off a mark 97 at Ayr in 2015 and rated higher. That was his last win though and although he's very well handicapped on that form his last run after a break was only modest and this trip is a question mark also.

Forecasts

Apachee Prince (7/2), Lady London (4/1), Fraser Canyon (9/2), Maraweh (11/2), Cadore (17/2), Honeychile Ryder (10/1), Justatenner (11/1), Final Reminder (12/1), Trongate (12/1), Angel's Envy (14/1), Nuova Scuola (20/1), Avondhu Pearl (50/1)

Verdict

Not a particularly strong event for the first handicap on the card and it may well be that LADY LONDON can confirm and build on her winning form over C&D last time out when she had three of these rivals behind, overcame a mistake at the last and idled on the run-in. Apachee Prince was her closest pursuer and he may well again be the main danger being slightly better off a the weights this time around. Several of these have to prove themselves over this trip although Trongate did travel well here last time out and if he gets a decent gallop Maraweh a two-time C&D winner could be seen to better effect now. Cadore is undoubtedly well handicapped but he would fall in the group that need to prove that they stay this far even around this sharp circuit.
  1. Lady London
  2. Apachee Prince
  3. Trongate
