Won a Southwell handicap (6f) with ease in January for Clive Cox, but well held in all three starts for this yard since. Has dropped 6lb for those runs and now also drops in grade, so may be able to figure more prominently. First run here.
Made a bright start to his career in 2015 and handicapper once had him pegged at 95. Gradual slide since, picking up a 6f Carlisle handicap in May from a mark of 75 and now down in grade after 10 more defeats. Has run well here. Enters calculations.
Has a C&D win plus two 7f wins at the track under his belt. Not seen much action in recent months, but won from 7lb higher at Chelmsford as recently as May and if hinted at a return to form last time. Interesting, though wide draw to overcome.
Went close here over 5f in February from 2lb lower when fresh and also at Windsor from 1lb higher in April, so has the ability to go close. No reason why she can't have come on at home since her last run in June and she is considered.
Won over C&D from today's mark, though that was going on for four years ago. Recent efforts suggest that he is a few pounds below that level now and he was comfortably held from just 1lb higher last time.
Popped up this time last year at Chelmsford from an 8lb higher mark. Has put in some decent efforts since and handicapper has been gradually easing him, though he has yet to take advantage. Couldn't rule him out but has a bit to prove.
Both his wins have been at Newcastle over 5f, so he has it to prove both on this particular surface and also over this longer trip. Last effort came after a break, so may do better here from same mark, but distance is the major concern.
Broke his duck at the 38th attempt at Kempton (5f) in October from a mark of 47. Has had any number of tries at this level, including last time when beaten 3L over C&D from a 1lb lower mark, so not easy to fancy.
0-25, but belied his 50-1 SP over C&D last time out when rattling home between runners to be 1½L fifth of 12. Has to race from 6lb 'wrong' in this and that will not make that elusive first win any easier, especially from this draw.

Mister Freeze is interesting now dropped to this grade and market confidence behind him may well prove to be significant. Merdon Castle has been on the slide for a while but he goes well here and is very much respected from today's mark, though preference is for MALAYSIAN BOLEH, who also acts around here and is on a handy mark, having hinted that he may be on his way back to form last time. Billyoakes could also make an impression.
