Lone win came here in a bumper in 2016. Return to action over course and distance latest somewhat laboured so much more needed today off top weight.
Not got seriously competitive in two starts this term, his first handicaps. Running better here last time before his run flattened out late on. 3lb lower today so better expected here and has an each-way shout.
French flat winner didn't show a great deal over hurdles when last seen in 2016. Change of yards since and tongue-tied here on return but likely to need the run.
Best run to date on return at Chepstow last month when second of 12 in a handicap. 2lb higher today and faces a slightly longer trip but looks like she could be ready to get her first win this term.
Beaten 41 lengths twice and 39 lengths in three starts to date, Switches to handicap now and while he is still quite unexposed there isn't enough encouragement to recommend him.
Beat the classy Carter McKay in his final point-to-point but yet to show that one's level under rules. Well beaten in all four starts so far but switches to handicaps now and disappointing if there isn't more to come soon.
Showed some ability in lone bumper but hurdles form quite ordinary and jumping at times been very poor. Returns with a tongue-tie and champion jockey up although he rode last time too when he was tailed off.
Yet to make the first two in 17 starts. Probably her best effort so far latest when third at Plumpton back in February. Hard to envisage her winning this first time out.
Ran really well when second here last time out but 6lb rise looks incredibly harsh given she's a maiden of now 22 starts. More an each-way proposition taking that rise into account.
Unplaced in six starts to date over hurdles including in handicaps the last twice. Tailed off again at Chepstow latest and barring a first time tongue tie making a huge difference he will struggle again.
Lone win was over course and distance but way back in 2014. Over a year since he last ran under rules and two ordinary point-to-point runs since leave plenty of doubts about how much ability remains.
Best effort to date came over 3m1f at Plumpton so curious why she hasn't been over that far since. Handicap at present of some appeal although another drop in trip today not ideal.
Forecasts
Sixties Idol (4/1), Llantara (9/2), C'est Du Gateau (6/1), Willshebetrying (13/2), Knightly Pleasure (13/2), Clondaw Westie (10/1), Nosper (10/1), Project Mars (12/1), Sergio (12/1), Sweet'n'chic (20/1), Upham Running (25/1), Minella Voucher (33/1)
This won't take a great deal of winning but does however take plenty of deciphering. Ultimately LLANTARA gets the vote after a good second at Chepstow latest which suggested she could have a decent campaign this time around. Sergio is far from a fluent jumper but Richard Johnson sticks with him which looks significant in a lowly contest like this. Project Mars is another entering calculations after a decent effort off a higher mark last time out.
- Llantara
- Sergio
- Project Mars
