Off the mark at Lingfield last month, when Alpine Peak was back in third, but needs to improve plenty for that in order to defy a 7lb penalty.

Showed improvement to finish third on his second start at Lingfield last time out, when settling much better than his debut over this C&D. Beaten by Rusper that day but now receives 7lb from that reopposing rival.

Helmet colt who is a half-brother to a couple of winners, but goes for a trainer who is 0/20 with his juveniles this year.

Dutch Art half-brother to several winners, including US/Singapore Grade 1 winner Gitano Hernando. Would be of interest if attracting support in the betting.

Holy Roman Emperor newcomer, who is a half-brother of Listed-level winner High Duty, and represents a top trainer who has given AW introductions to some very nice horses in the past. The market should guide.
Has run to a very similar level on his two starts so far (both on turf and over shorter than this); interesting to see if he can improve for this longer trip now making his AW debut.
Shaped encouragingly over C&D last time when crossing the line in fourth before being disqualified when the rider failed to weigh in. Looks a threat now with a 7lb claimer on his back.

Never a real factor in two starts so far, including here last time out. Steps up in trip here but needs to show plenty more in order to go close.

Has shown little in beating one horse home in two races so far, and is incredibly difficult to build a case for here.

Kitten's Joy newcomer out of a Group-placed mare who represents a trainer who has done very well with his two-year-olds this year, particularly first time out.

Forecasts

Alpine Peak (7/4), Holy Heart (4/1), Winds Of Fire (5/1), Mr Reckless (8/1), Rusper (8/1), Elapidae (14/1), Indian Admiral (14/1), Galactic Spirit (16/1), Rogue Hero (20/1), Seasearch (50/1)

Verdict

A few interesting newcomers here including Winds Of Fire, who has to be respected as a Charlie Appleby juvenile, and John Gosden's Holy Heart, but preference is for MR RECKLESS. He could have finished a lot closer than fourth over C&D last time if enjoying a clear run (he was later disqualified but this was due to the rider not weighing in), and may only need to find a small bit of improvement to get off the mark at the third time of asking, provided he enjoys a trouble-free passage this time.
  1. Mr Reckless
  2. Winds Of Fire
  3. Holy Heart
