Milan gelding out of Strong Wishes, promising second in Exeter bumper on debut in October. Tongue-tie added now and sound claims if building on that effort with tongue tie added.
Yard not readily associated with this sphere, but did have a bumper winner earlier in the season (1-6) and booking of Johnson hints at confidence for this debutant.

Finished well down the field in a bumper at Huntingdon last month on debut and significant improvement needed if hoping to have a major say here.

Sulamani gelding cost connections £42,000 and makes plenty appeal on paper for leading connections, worth monitoring in betting.

Run to similar level in bumpers at Huntingdon and Market Rasen so far, up slightly in trip this afternoon and must raise game.

Yard 0-12 in bumpers in last 5 seasons and breeding suggests this newcomer will be seen to best effect over a longer trip in time.

Bit keen on debut at Market Rasen in October, eventually finishinf fourth of 14 (beaten less than 10L). Capable of stepping up on that showing if settling better.

Kapgarde gelding makes debut for Moore team, yard not in great form lately (2-36) but capable of having one ready to go in this sphere.
A €27,000 gelding out of a winning half-sister to top-class hurdler/smart chaser (winner up to 2m4f) Land Afar. Yard usually have some high-class bumper performers in their midst and one to look out for.

16/1
First foal by Midnight Legend out of the 2m hurdle winner Posh Emily, showed little on debut at Huntingdon last month, racing in rear and never threatening to have a big say. Improvement needed.

Forecasts

Acey Milan (5/2), Grand Sancy (4/1), Kingofthecotswolds (6/1), Copperhead (6/1), Bard Of Brittany (13/2), Kapdad (10/1), Barrsbrook (14/1), Midnight Midge (16/1), Gamekeeper Bill (16/1), Gibb Hill (33/1)

Verdict

Acey Milan was well supported on debut at Exeter when unable to go the pace of the winner late on, settling for second. There should be more to come with a tongue tie also added, and a big run seems likely. GRAND SANCY was too keen to do himself justice on debut at Market Rasen but Paul Nicholls' charge should improve and could be up to landing this. There are a host of potential dangers lurking amongst the newcomers and the betting will be a key factor. Richard Johnson's booking on Bard Of Brittany is noted while Kingofthecotswolds represents a yard in flying form and well able to have one ready for a bumper while Copperhead is also a notable newcomer.
  1. Grand Sancy
  2. Kingofthecotswolds
  3. Acey Milan
