Won two of his five starts last term having needed the run on reappearance and was very consistent through campaign. Pulled up last month at Ffos Las (3m, soft) on reappearance, should strip much fitter and dangerous to discount.

Didn't always find a lot when push came to shove last season over hurdles, finished second on chase bow last month at Ayr (2m4½f, heavy), standing no chance with winner but at least showing determination to hold on for second.

Now 13-years-old and time appeared to be catching up with him last backend. Has since joined new yard but ought to prove vulnerable to younger legs in this.

Winning reappearance at Ffos Las (2m, soft) last month, took record to 6-15 over fences in doing so and has won over this trip in the past. Only 4lb higher and seems likely to go well again.

Won lone chase over this distance at Worcester in June 2016, slowly coming to the boil after 299 days off, twice going close over this trip at Warwick off mark of 101, up 2lb and expected to be bang in the mix for this prize.

Yet to get off the mark in 11 starts over fences and not exactly hammering at the door in truth. Early faller at Exeter in October and has been given time to get over that misfortune. Improvement needed.

Three-time winner over hurdles last month (2m-2m5f) but not quite able to replicate that over fences at Sedgefield (2m½f, soft) and this looks a marginally better contest. More needed to get second chase win.

Forecasts

Bredon Hill Lad (3/1), Third Act (7/2), Chateau Robin (4/1), Zayfire Aramis (9/2), Johns Luck (8/1), Bollin Line (8/1), Ratify (12/1)

Verdict

Chateau Robin didn't tend to find as much as desired for pressure last term over hurdles but his chasing bow Ayr was much more encouraging in that regard as he battled gainfully to secure second behind an easy winner, there should be more to come from him. BREDON HILL LAD extended his fine record over fences when scoring at Ffos Las on his reappearance and won't be inconvenienced by this trip now. Given that winning run, and his claimer getting him in here off the same mark, he's fancied to double up. Zayfire Aramis and Johns Luck are also expected to get involved in the shake-up.
  1. Bredon Hill Lad
  2. Chateau Robin
  3. Zayfire Aramis
