Fairly consistent at his own level last season, placed in four of six chase starts including a win here on heavy over slightly shorter trip. May have needed the run last month back here and each-way potential if coming on for it.
Had the measure of Shanann Star (6L second) when winning here in March (3m1f, heavy) and duly followed up under penalty at Taunton before crying enough over this C&D 10 days later. Off since and changed yards, interesting contender if straight.
Can be off the bridle almost from flagfall at times, scored a double at Towcester and Warwick in early 2016 but mostly struggling since. Handicapper has offered some hope on seasonal bow.
Three-time winner over fences, has stamina to see this out and didn't show up badly on first start since March when beaten around 13L at Chepstow last month. Capable of improving.
Likes it here, runner-up in four of five previous visits. Latest came last month over just shy of this trip on soft ground here and drops in class now, though is carrying an additional 4lb and losing claimer rider.
A 12-race maiden, she finished second (of two finishers) at Fakenham last time out over 3m on good to soft. That was off a break so could be more to come.
Decent strike rate over fences (7-35) with latest win at Fontwell (2m5f, soft) in February off mark of 85. Has won over this far in the past but not getting any younger and first-time cheekpieces added here.
C&D winner in March on third start over fences, not as good next time at Chepstow. Has changed yards since and remains open to further progress in this discipline (just nine starts all told). One to monitor in the betting on return.
Decent effort last month at Warwick over this trip on return from a break, beaten 8½L in fourth of seven. Chase win came over this distance at Towcester in February. Not ruled out if building on reappearance.
Made an encouraging start over fences at Taunton over just of 3m when close second of 13 (winner didn't do much for the form afterwards) but has been off 684 days now and only strong market support would pique interest here.
Has shown some very minor promise in four starts over fences and may get his head in front somewhere, form book suggests it won't be here however.
13-race maiden, well held at Lingfield (2m4f, soft) on first start after leaving David Pipe. Good deal more required and not a certain stayer over this increased trip.
Record is 1-21 over fences, win coming at Fakenham (2m5f, soft) on New Year's Day. Both runs since a break have been laboured and first-time visor needs to bring about significant change in fortune.
Forecasts
How's My Friend (9/2), Armedandbeautiful (5/1), Leith Hill Legasi (13/2), Carqalin (8/1), Goring One (10/1), General Girling (10/1), How's Vienna (10/1), Backoftherock (12/1), Shanann Star (14/1), Wish In A Well (14/1), Snowball (14/1), Cheat The Cheater (14/1), Residence And Spa (16/1)
LEITH HILL LEGASI made a fairly positive return to action last month at Chepstow and drops a grade now, giving Charlie Longsdon's runner a sound claim. She has a decent strike rate over fences (3-18, with four more placed efforts) and all those wins have come on soft/heavy going. Any rain would therefore further boost her chance. How's My Friend likes this track, finishing runner-up in in four of his five previous visits and arrives in decent form while previous C&D scorer How's Vienna is worth keeping an eye on first start for his new yard. General Girling and Shanann Star are also capable of getting involved.
- Leith Hill Legasi
- How's My Friend
- How's Vienna
