Stowaway mare won two bumpers in late 2016 and far from disgraced in Listed Sandown contest in March. Returned with sounds efforts in finishing second twice over timber at Chepstow (2m3½f, good to soft) and Warwick (3m2f, good to soft).

Filly has come home in her own time in novice hurdles at Plumpton (2m4½ f, good) and Kempton (2m, good to soft) thus far and doesn't appeal as a likely winner here on those efforts.

Placed four times from six starts over hurdles, including on seasonal reappearance over C&D last month when beaten 2½L into second despite being 9lb wrong at the weights. Puts her right in the mix for this prize.

Dual-bumper winner last season, ahead of Just A Thought in Listed Sandown contest and fine effort in Aintree Grade 2 to end the term. Yard in flying form (6-28) and champion jockey booked, obvious claims on jumping bow.
Sent off 100/1 and beaten more than 20L at Exeter last month on hurdling bow over 2m2½f in soft ground. Plenty more called for now and looks up against it in this line-up.

Forecasts

Petticoat Tails (5/4), Midnight Tune (9/4), Just A Thought (9/4), Westerberry (33/1), Kalarika (50/1)

Verdict

PETTICOAT TAILS was above average in bumpers last season and finished with a solid effort in an Aintree Grade 2 (third). Warren Greatrex has team in super form right now and his booking of the champion jockey bodes well for this first jumping test. Midnight Tune put up a super effort over C&D on reappearance last month to be second and will be more than willing to take advantage should the selection encounter trouble while Just A Thought definitely has the potential to provide her trainer with a welcome winner.
